1. i'll ask my questions yet again

I have posted this a few times since August 2006. I have never received a response of any kind.

Scott Forbes, an employee with Fiduciary Trust: "On the weekend of 9/8,9/9 there was a 'power down' condition in WTC tower 2, the south tower. This power down condition meant there was no electrical supply for approx 36hrs from floor 50 up. I am aware of this situation since I work in IT and had to work with many others that weekend to ensure that all systems were cleanly shutdown beforehand ... and then brough back up afterwards. The reason given by the WTC for the power down was that cabling in the tower was being upgraded ... without power there were no security cameras, no security locks on doors."

I have also heard Forbes say basically the same thing in a radio interview.

Does "no electrical supply" mean every one of the top 50 (or so) floors in the South Tower was dark? Does that mean the workers had only the available light coming through windows -- and flashlights, etc. (battery-operated generators?)? This would be odd, since many rooms in the WTC (and especially rooms with cables have no windows.) (I worked on the 59th floor of the North Tower for three years (1995-98).) How did these workers work with no electricity?

No electricty = no elevators. If they worked in the tower for two days (?), did they walk down the stairs (perhaps as many as 100 floors) when they went home at night? And then did they walk UP all those floors to work the next day? Or did they sleep in the building to avoid that?

If the power down happened and if it lasted 36 hours, are there any pictures of downtown Manhattan showing the half-dark South Tower? Forbes said the shutdown was unprecedented -- seems like it would be newsworthy. I know the Empire State Building was sometimes completely dark (often after 2:00 am or so), but I can't recall if the WTC was ever 100% dark.

I did a search for all New York Times stories with "world trade center" in them from July 1, 2001 to September 11, 2001 and found nothing.

Do we have any physical evidence to authenticate the powerdown? A memo? A photo? A newspaper story? ANYTHING AT ALL???

So far, the answer is no.

2. Maybe they only pretended there would be a power-down

and just turned all the security devices off. And don't look for anything but 9/11 Kool-Aid in the NY Times, which had a midtown office tower in the excavation stages when it happened.

p.s Time-Warner, Bloomberg, and Hearst also had midtown office towers in various stages of construction. Bloomberg's takes up an entire block of midtown Manhattan.

3. I have no answers - just thought the video was interesting. This was the 1st I'd heard of a power

down situation as well as evacuation drills.

4. Battery powered emergency lighting

is required in office buildings. So even on a floor without power you would still have back up lighting. Plus, there was a lot of natural light available because of all the windows.

In regards to your questions, I don't think telling the tenents that their power would be cut over the weekend, so they should shut down their computers and other electrical equipment, necessarily means that the whole building was without power for an extended length of time.
