Question re: Silverstein collapse study
In the thread on the final insurance settlement for WTC claims, Bolo Boffin posted:

"Silverstein did conduct his own in-depth study of the collapses. n/t"

As this is news to me and I haven't tracked it down yet I'm wondering if he or anyone else can provide a source for that, and links to any reporting on it that may exist. Thank you.

2. one question...
why does the OCT (in this case Silverstein study) state that 'Tragically, the fires were nevertheless hot enough to eventually weaken the columns stripped of their fireproofing.`

Wheres the proof that the fire proofing was stripped off? This whole theory is premised upon this one event occurring, because if it didnt happen, the fires wouldn't have burned hot or long enough to do any damage. Talk about speculation.... :eyes:

oh btw, `member the days when we used to argue about the fire temperatures in wtc1 & 2 and you guys would say things like the fires were around 2000+ degrees and whatnot? `member?? we would argue and argue lol... sigh... those were the days...

5. The NIST report provides an analysis of photographs...
of the exterior of the WTC towers that corroborates the claim SFRM was stripped from the structural members. See NCSTAR 1-3C, Sections 2.2.2 and 2.2.5.

7. what would lead you to believe the fireproofing
was not stripped off 'in the path of the aircraft debris' as stated in the report? I think the greatest evidence if this is how the buildings distributed their loads just prior to collapse. It would indicate which columns were weakended...which were those that wer in the path of the aircaft debris.

The report mentions that the fires weren't as hot as a typical office fire, which btw are typically 2000 degrees, due to dust and debris. It also states the fires were hotter than the 750 to 1300 degrees at the perimeter.
