Dear "Other Side"
Edited on Sat Jun-12-10 10:21 AM by Bonobo
So, OK, let's say you got me. let's say that there were no explosives (I doubt there were).

Let's say that that the 3 building all did come down as the result of the apparent damage even though to some the way they all fell looks funny.

Let's say that.

So...what do YOU think is wrong with the official story.

Cause, to me, it still doesn't wholly pass the smell test.

You know how sometimes something just reeks, but you're not sure where that fishy stink is coming from?

Well, that;s how I feel.

So I leave it up to you.

What reeks? Where is that smell coming from?

What do YOU all think is wrong, if anything, with the official story?

What are we missing?

Is it all my imagination? Is that the smell of roses?

1. The secrecy
Edited on Sat Jun-12-10 10:38 AM by noise
The constant exploitation and grandstanding.

The 9/11 authoritarianism:

    Authoritarianism=patriotism.

Government officials always act in good faith.

People who question the findings of authority figures are a)unpatriotic b)al Qaeda sympathizers c)conspiracy nuts d)all of the above.

Everything classified is for good reason or merely to cover up embarrassing conduct--conduct that is in no way criminal.

Binary thinking is the best way to view the world. Thus one must choose either Bush or Bin Laden. That is the only choice.

2. The lack of transparency
7/21/04 Commission meeting on declassification timetable

Key 9/11 Commission records are still classified. The agencies that tortured, used warrantless surveillance and abused NSL's (national security letters) are sitting on 9/11 Commission MFR's with their personnel.

Instead of these officials having their patriotism and belief in representative democracy questioned the public is accused of being disloyal, ungrateful, naive, unpatriotic, etc.

3. I'm curious
Whom do you think is expressing this sentiment?

Putting aside your odd definition of authoritarianism for a moment.

I know a number of folks that hold very conservative viewpoints. Folks that thought Bush did a pretty good job as President. None of them would agree with the above statements.

8. This is the establishment consensus
Over the top rhetoric usually comes from the GOP. The media is more subtle but all the characteristics (listed above) are implied through their coverage.

9. An establishment concensus you say??? Really?

Based on what?

Over the top rhetoric usually comes from the GOP

Sure that's true. Many Democrats are just as guilty of hyperbole as Repugs. They all are politicians after all and hyperbole and over the top rhetoric are tools of the trade.

But your rhetoric is just as over the top. Probably even more so.

Why did the buildings collapse? The truth NIST didn't tell you

Was it the antenna from the north tower like Lucky Larry explained? Fire? Failed water sprinklers? The 13th floor? Diesel fuel tanks? Maybe it was because Lucky Larry took on the role of chief firefighter on 9 11 and made the decision to pull it?

No it was my ol ma farting after a full cup of bean soup.

After dinner ol pa lighted his cigar.....then it was when it happened.

You know the rest of the story ... the whole building collapsed.

Why did it happen?

Ma didn't see the sign in front of building 7.
