Lately the woo has be particularly strong in the dungeon ---
Just wondering why, since 9/11, it seems the level of truly woo'ish stuff has increased.

2. I think he is talking about one poster in particular
who seems not to have the slightest rudimentary knowledge of the events of 9/11 yet feels compelled to post anything he finds on the internet.
For example, he claimed one plane was destined for SF, while the others were short journeys yet "flew all over the country" before hitting their targets.
Not so much woo as outright stupidity.

24. A short journey ....
In September 2002, Mueller told CNN twice that there is "no legal proof to prove the identities of the suicidal hijackers." After that admission a strange thing happened - nothing. No follow-up stories. No follow-up questions. There was dead silence and the story disappeared. It was almost as if no one wanted to know what had happened. In fact, the FBI didn't bother to change the names, backgrounds or photographs of the alleged 19 hijackers. It didn't even deny the news reports suggesting that the names and identities of at least six of the hijackers may be unknown. Mueller just left the door open."

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/6/16/122289/-Robert-Mueller-let-the-cat-out-of-the-bag,-and-no-one-noticed

So why aren't you chastising the FBI chief? Must've been awfully disconcerting for the feebs to see those accused "terrorists" popping up alive all over kingdom come, especially after they'd been chasing those bad boys from pillar to post for months on end and didn't even know who they were. Kinda takes the intel out of intelligence, doesn't it? Your heroes. *sigh* :eyes:

So tens of thousands of Afghan civilians have been murdered over a rumor and we probably don't even know how many American sons and daughters have died as a result of that rumor. And that doesn't bother you. You aren't just "mistaken", its far worse than that.

Examples;

Aliens have deactivated British and US nuclear missiles, say US military pilots
The Road to World War III - The Global Banking Cartel Has One Card Left to Play
The passengers of Flight 11 embarked on the wrong plane: CONFIRMED (an oldies kicked back up)
Two Flight 175 took off from Logan: CONFIRMED (another okdie kicked back up)
Obama staffer wants ‘cognitive infiltration’ of 9/11 conspiracy groups (another oldie kicked back up)
sucks to hear the truth...ahmadinejad says in the U.N. that U.S. was behind 9/11
With all the warrants and raids lately should we start asking what the
SEC office destroyed:IPO probe in jeopardy
UFO's Visited Nuclear Weapons Sites Say Former Air Force Officers.....

Maybe not so unusual..........

maybe you meant say the "woo" has been particularly strong on DU as of late.

read the stories and then get back to me.

For instance, it is totally factual that some air force officers say they saw UFOs messing with nuclear facilities.

14. yes!
at this point, it is quite obvious that holograms were used and the actual passengers were quietly dumped into the ocean.
just look at the videos and photos...all easily faked.
as for eyewitnesses, they were obviously intimidated as you would be too.
thank you mrarundale for being a voice of sanity among the government operatives that post here.

"By 74 percent to 13 percent, the public thinks there was an official cover-up to keep the public from learning the truth about the assassination."

13 percenters. lol. No wonder they are so offensive.

11. Sorry, dude. As per CBS poll. Link:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/1998/11/20/opinion/main23166.shtml

CBS) Thirty-five years after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, conspiracy theories and charges of an official government cover-up resonate with the American public, according to a new CBS News poll.

Most Americans still remain suspicious of the lone gunman conclusion of the Warren Commission Report and skeptical that the truth will ever be learned. Only one in 10 Americans believes that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. More than seven times as many think Oswald did not act alone.
Did Oswald act alone?
Yes
10%
No
76%

The same large majority of Americans believes there was an official government cover-up. By 74 percent to 13 percent, the public thinks there was an official cover-up to keep the public from learning the truth about the assassination.

Public skepticism about the Warren Report's conclusions and about whether or not the government has told the public the whole truth has been this high for at least the past decade.

A majority of Americans have expressed doubt about a single assassin at least since Gallup first asked the question in 1966.

Are you referring to cognitive dissonance or something different? I haven't read any studies on the phenom you mentioned but I know it exists and have seen it in action.

23. It would be interesting to know
exactly why the 74 percent believe in a conspiracy. Too bad they didn't ask that question as part of the poll. My guess is it would have less to do with evidence and more to do with what they "saw on the TEE VEE."

Americans love a good conspiracy.

How else would you explain Murder She Wrote?

26. Americans tend to believe doctors more than your tee vee
Or the Warren Commission. And they tend to believe the PEOPLE who were there when the president was having his head blown off. And their accounts totally contradict the Commission findings. And if you weren't around at the time, many people thought that either the Soviets or Cuba had a hand in it. (ironically, Soviet intell told Bobby that CIA did it).

28. So 74% of Americans have read the doctors' reports
and the Warren Commission findings and have taken the time to evaluate both of them and that's how they reached their decision?

Yeah, and most people really read the Terms Of Service before they click that little box.

Like I said, the TEE VEE.
