Richard Gage's 2009 Salary from AE911Truth - $75,450 - 21% of Revenues
The 2009 Form 990-EZ for Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth is now available at Guidestar.org. According to it, Richard Gage made $75,450 in 2009.

As I posted at my 100% free, no-donations-requested-or-accepted" website AE911Truth.info:

The total revenue for 2009 – $344,570. Salaries for Gage and others topped out at $107,417. That means salaries constitute 31% of AE911Truth’s expenses.

http://ae911truth.info/wordpress/2010/ae911truth/75450/

There are FAR better uses for your money than AE911Truth.

1. I agree. But, just to be fair...
If all Gage is making from his AE911Truth gig is $75K/year, then he certainly isn't getting rich off it.

You didn't say anything about Gage getting rich. This is just a matter of my personal curiosity about his and others' motivations. Gage makes some arguments that are jaw-droppingly poor, so it is easy to suppose that he is a self-aware snake oil salesman. I think it's most likely that he basically believes what he says, although he may be conscious of tailoring some arguments to 'make an impression' or 'get people thinking' rather than getting them right.

I'm sure there are people who think that Richard Gage is an amazing bargain at $75,000/year. Go figure.

2. No, but that's a nice paying gig for fleecing the stupid
make a couple low grade youtube videos...

book a few low end tv shows if possible...

Spend about as much time as spooked does coming up with cockamame truthies...

Work whatever hours you want...

Don't do shit for weeks at a time...

I would say that's a good gig..I want in on it :)

3. I am trying to aggregate several..
conspiracy theories together. The beta version is that "chemtrails" secretly contain Thermite and that's why the WTC collapsed.

I just need to fine-tune it to explain why so many other buildings are, nonetheless, still standing. A minor detail.

31. I'm not an expert
I hope you can get a hold of Morgan Stanley's special report on 9 11 though. I'm not going to waste significant time on this, either you have seen AIG's sales pre 9 11 & post 9 11 or you haven't.

This link provides some great details about it:

http://onlinejournal.com/artman/publish/article_1291.shtml

“Even A.I.G. would turn a profit of several hundred million dollars for the quarter.” He also said that "the company’s earnings would pick up to their historic pattern of more than 20 percent annual growth." In what seems like sanguineous, if not obscene enthusiasm, he said, “The opportunities for us are enormous.” He added, “It’s a global opportunity. It’s not just in the United States, but rates are rising throughout the world. So our business looks quite good going forward.

http://www.nytimes.com/2001/10/10/business/insurance-prices-soaring-aig-chief-says.html

BTW do you remember Sptizer's investigation of MMC & AIG? I was only referring to the "legal" part of the profit scheme.

You are making this retarded. I said they made more from 9 11 than they lost. Argue with what I said, I will argue with what you said.

You realize Elliot Spitzer's lawsuit on Marsh was a greater cost than AIG's 9 11 payout?

"They formed a subsidiary -- Axis Specialty Ltd. -- to sell insurance to corporate customers at three or four times the rates before September 11. MMC says that it was merely "meeting market demands."

37. A simple example:
Edited on Wed Nov-10-10 09:40 PM by deconstruct911
We estimate that Berkshire Hathaway and General Re combined will write around $12 billion in non life reinsurance premiums in 2001 and $2 billion in life/health reinsurance. We also estimate Berkshire’s probable largest loss from this event at around $1.5 billion or roughly 11% of premiums. Looked at very simply therefore, a price increase of 11% on unchanged volume would recoup Berkshire’s entire loss from the World Trade Center. We expect Berkshire’s volume to increase significantly −probably more than 25%. We expect rates to rise considerably more than 11%. Without trying to be overly precise, therefore, it’s clear that the largest reinsurers should fare better as the flight to quality steers customers back to reinsurers who can, without question, pay claims.

I won't bet very much, since obviously some people are more than happy to earn their keep by fleecing the stupid. But my guess is that most people, including you, would rather not.

I think that probably applies within 9/11 Truth as well: some folks are conscious hucksters, but most pretty much believe what they say. I don't know who is who.

84. I dunno

I've often thought about guys like Robert Tilton and the power of mailing lists.

If I wanted to make a career change, I have often thought that it wouldn't be too difficult to bundle together a bunch of feel-good tripe, package it as a religion, and sell a monthly newsletter of platitudes cloaked in revelatory language for, say, a scale of $10 to $100 per month.

Nothing harmful, destructive or cultish, but figure... If you could get 1000 social rejects to feel better about themselves by making them think some guru - ie me - cares about them and gives them a reason to smile and live another meaningless day, then that's a not too shabby $100k per year. "Enlightened" members can buy up to $50 a month and get a larger chunk of wisdom.

You could even outsource to Chinese fortune cookie copy writers.

Even with turnover and attrition, it doesn't strike me as a repugnant idea. If some slob can't find meaning in life and becomes inspired by platitudinous tripe, it's cheaper than therapy and a great value at ten bucks a month.

Also, that compensation doesn't include expenses, which are another chunk of the total revenue. So, if you figure that he can expense a lot of his meals, lodging, etc., then those are things which aren't coming out of his salary.

26. true, that
I have no idea what Gage expenses, of course. What really strikes me with a lot of these folks is that their egos must be heavily invested in the roles they have taken on. The money is nice, but if Richard Gage were to wake up tomorrow and say, "Umm, after further review, never mind," how much attention (both positive and negative) would he lose?

That's just how much money he gets from the AE911Truth account. I don't know yet if his speaking fees funnel through the organization, or if that's all on top. And there was a startup loan of over $20,000 that he got paid back as well.

And it's possible that his benefits might be paid out separately from this $75,000 or not. We just don't know. But it would be irresponsible not to ask questions, right?

Probably should've put his talents and skills toward becoming an oil exec or a bank CEO. Right?

But I'm not surprised you took the time to research his income ... which is derived from donations, not taxes like the billions spent on an investigation that even the co-chairman Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton said Americans still don't know the whole truth about what happened that day.

Would Gage had stuck to his more honorable profession!

You shouldn't be surprised that I'm tracking down every financial detail of the dealings of AE911Truth. It's a public non-profit, and its records are open to the public. If you feel great giving AE911Truth more money, knowing that a large portion is simply paying for Gage's alimony -- well, his reduced alimony, I guess. Going down from an architect's salary to a con-man's salary means the alimony for the ex-Mrs. Gage was cut down quite a bit. I guess. I don't know. It would be irresponsible not to ask questions...

But then, OTOH, maybe its because he IS doing such a good job that you find it necessary to take up this holy mission to discredit and defame him. Not that I would ever question anyone's motives, or anything like that, everybody has those, whether they'll admit it or not.

If millions of dollars in annual bonuses can be paid to the CEOs of insurance company death panels that deny poor people medical care, I'd call 75 grand a year to find out what happened on 9/11 a hell of a good deal.

Though they contracted various "experts", a high school physics teacher, David Chandler, had to point out to them that during the collapse of WTC7 there was a period of free fall that they later acknowledged. Chandler did his first study with free video from the internet and free software and he made his findings available on You Tube.

35. Since you've posted that list before,
I'd call that spam.

But ....

just for kicks and giggles, I highlighted one of the entities who "participated" in the investigation and came up with this:

http://www.asce.org/uploadedFiles/Government_Relations_-_New/writtentestimony102605.pdf

What, four or five pages of testimony containing one sentence about the collapse in question.

Maybe you could put your sluthing abilities to work and find out how much we paid for that report.

Edited on Wed Nov-10-10 09:26 PM by Bolo Boffin
That testimony is talking about implementing the NIST recommendations developed from their studies of the collapses of the World Trade Center buildings. Far from only having "one sentence about the collapse," the whole thing is based on the NIST study.

This is what adults do, immune. They apply the best science available and they work to make buildings safer.

Meanwhile, Gage puts out the call for an International Marketing volunteer.

http://www.ae911truth.org/take-action/51-community-a-country/291-volunteer-oppertunites.html

With "over 1300 architects and engineers" working with Gage to investigate these collapses, you'd think some actual investigating would start happening. You'd think some kind of workable hypothesis on how any variety of thermite/thermate might be used to demolish a building. Instead, all we get is murky implications and more fundraising appeals.

38. No, the "adults"
talk about tomorrow, not yesterday. Never yesterday. Why is that? Could it be because they either screwed the pooch, or they just plain screwed up, yesterday? It should be called no-fault adulthood.

Investigating IS happening as we speak, Bolo. It took six years for the official investigation to get finished. Only then did the SERIOUS investigation begin to get underway.

You were so patient for the first reports to come out and now all of a sudden you're in such a gawd awful hurry.

39. Yes, tomorrow. The report you cite is talking about how to implement NIST recommendations.
Not yesterday, tomorrow. In the future. Just like you say adults act.

Do adults wait six years to start the SERIOUS investigation? Please point me to where all of this SERIOUS investigation is getting underway. Let's have a workable hypothesis for how thermite in any of its splendiferous forms could be used in controlled demolitions.

40. The commission wasn't set up to dream up
futuristic visions, it was supposed to be a hard nosed investigation into what happened on September 11, 2001. That was what they were commissioned to do. And that's all.

NIST investigators (if you could call them that) never looked for thermite/thermate/nanothermite in the rubble and they overturned all the standards and rules regarding fire investigations by willfully refusing to do so? THAT was no serious investigation, it was a cover-up, pure and simple and, as I've said before, even some of the commissioners weren't satisfied with the dodgy testimony they were given. No matter how you frame your protests, it can't be prettied up.

50. For the umpteenth time
This is from the 2001 Edition of the National Fire Protection Association NFPA 921 Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations.

19.2.4 - “Exotic Accelerants. Mixtures of fuels and Class 3 or Class 4 oxidizers may produce an exceedingly hot fire and may be used to start or accelerate a fire. Thermite mixtures also produce exceedingly hot fires. Such accelerants generally leave residues that may be visually or chemically identifiable.

http://firefightersfor911truth.org/?cat=8&paged=2

You call that bullshit? You call it overblown? Why didn't they check for those residues? Over a billion dollars we paid them and they couldn't do a few simple tests? Its STANDARD protocol with any fire ... but not for the worst attack ever in this country. Stunning.

design flaws usually aren't apparent until it's too late.

Your inability to understand simple realities is truly stunning. It's almost as stunning as your inability to understand how differences in design and construction make for differences in performance.

The most difficult thing to understand is why you insist on parading your ignorance all around.

47. I'm not saying there wasn't. :D
Experts disagree all the time and they hash it out.

But the entire point of all official investigations into the collapses was to determine what happened so as to building better and safer buildings in the future. The merit of individual recommendations can be debated, but they were offered in good faith.

That's what gets lost in this whole argument - the point of the investigations wasn't to settle the doubts of every doubting Thomas, but to produce a reasonable assessment and program of recommendations for the various code and standard-maintaining organizations. Laypeople weren't originally the target audience.

71. If the buildings were demolished with *therm*te, then NIST's recommendations are BS
And the building code modifications being enacted and discussed and implemented are threatening the stability of buildings around the world.

And yet, when ARUP did an internal study on the buildings collapsing and applied lessons learned to their future projects, the result was the Mandarin Oriental hotel fire.

Yes, a building fire currently used by AE911Truth to cast doubt on the WTC buildings is actually evidence that the buildings fell the way NIST and ARUP said that they did! Real-world applications built on the scientifically-arrived-at basis that the buildings collapsed!

so you take your marbles and go home?

And Bush knows I'm right, too, or he'd never be admitting publicly to torture, which is a war crime. All he has to do is say he did it to protect the murican peepul and he'd skate. And it doesn't take the brain of a newt to figure out that he deliberately removed the US from international war crimes courts BEFORE committing war crimes because he knew he'd be safe in the protective arms of the murican courts. Without proof of a connection between the crimes of torture and the crimes committed on 911, he's untouchable.

And do you deny murderers do occasionally face the needle? Is that supposed to be a big bad secret, too? We aren't allowed to talk about it? And actually, being against the death penalty, I'd much prefer to see them sentenced to life in Gitmo. Or maybe to the general population at Leavenworth.

The 9/11 commission co-chairman Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton said in their book that "Americans still don't know the whole truth about what happened that day." They were right there throughout the hearings, unlike the rest of us, so you have to figure that they might know what they're talking about. And I find it stunning that there are actually people out there who don't want us to know what really happened that day. Maybe you could help me figure out what we have to fear in knowing the truth? I think Richard Gage is*, because he would have to find a new line of work. In my opinion, and I believe in Kean and Hamilton's, the important unanswered questions about 9/11 have nothing to do with controlled demolition hypotheses. That you blithely cite Kean and Hamilton as if their opinion is closer to yours than to mine really makes me question your seriousness.

ETA: I doubt he is conscious of this. But I can't shake the sense that if he were focused on knowing the truth, he would be a lot closer by now.

if somebody doesn't look. Luckily, several somebody's are busily looking for facts that we don't currently have and if what they might be finding worries you, for a small donation you can receive their monthly newsletter and stay up to speed on how close they're getting. B-)

Your beliefs and opinions have nothing to do with unknown facts, and neither do mine, which is why overwhelming evidence is going to be needed to convince a grand jury to order a new independent investigation. No one disputes that. And it won't happen overnight. How many years did it take the commission to put out their final report? And even they had to fight to get any evidence ... even bad evidence ... out of a very reticent WH, Pentagon, FAA and NORAD.

So cut Gage and Gourley and the rest of them some slack ... THEY had to win a FOIA lawsuit before they could even begin to pull any non publicized teeth out of the bureaucratic hen and that poor old chickie was probably well over half redacted before being shipped out.

204. Well hey,
it was just an idea. Ya know, like re-con, getting into the enemy camp to find out what they're doing and planning. Maybe plant some fake stuff like porno to discredit them and then tell the authorities right where to find it. Reminds me of all those conveniently timed Bin Laden tapes that can survive things like Tora Bora bunker buster bombs. Some kind of technology that is ... video tapes that hold up better in a blast than black boxes.

But I digress .... obnoxiously, of course.

I can see how it happened and it scares me to death.

As pointed out in the video (watcher responses), Home Depot must've done a land office business the year Osama's cave was redecorated.

In truth, though, Rummy was probably just demonstrating a blueprint of the underground bunkers beneath DC and Denver and projecting them onto Bin Laden.

your problem is that AE911truth gets donations and some, probably a good bit, of that money is spent disproving the official story. I couldn't give a crap about percentages as long as the job gets done. And that's your real problem .... the job is getting done and people are listening.

All the rest is a bullshit attempt at deflection from the fact that the truth movement is growing legs, and maybe one day soon there will be some big feet attached to those legs to kick a few guilty asses all the way into the next century.

Edited on Fri Nov-12-10 02:01 PM by Bolo Boffin
And since Gage got 21% of all AE911Truth proceeds in 2009, it could be claimed that 1% of all Building What's revenues are used to pay Richard Gage.

Con games are all about building the percentages. Go to a casino and check out the odds. How much does it take to rake in billions and trillions? Taking, at most, a nickel out of every dollar. Most percentages take two cents or less. The key is VOLUME.

And when you've got the true believers volunteering to increase the volume, Gage is set at 21% to rake in the dough. It's no wonder that Gage spoke recently at a Wealthbuilders conference. He's ready to branch out into multilevel marketing.

How about you get us a breakdown on the billion plus dollars of taxpayer's money NIST paid to researchers for their "expert opinions" on better ways to build a mouse trap .... someday. How much of it was paid to whom. That was public money and in a "democracy" the expenditures should be public information, as opposed to voluntary donations made to a private organization.

And while you're poking around in the casino's cash drawer, you might ask anyone there which of the two above named entities has the real con game going and how much they'd be willing to bet on the former telling the truth. Ever.

Logic, Ghost. Randi debunks bullshit and Gage concocts it and sells it to his gullible followers, with some of the most laughable nonsense I have seen in a long time. Ryan Mackey eviscerated Gage in a series of debates on "Hardfire".

I predict that, within a few more years, Gage will fade into much-deserved obscurity.

157. While I can understand the point you are making, I still don't see what the fuss is in the OP about
his salary. I have never listened to Gage myself, and only know of him through seeing his name here on this board. As for Ryan Mackey, I have seen him described as a "NASA Engineer" here, so I did some googling, only to find out he is an electrical engineer who designs chases in for electrical wiring in aircraft. What qualifies him to speak on building implosions/demolitions?

People are going to believe what they want to be believe, no matter what, and there are people who are going to sell them what they want. As Bolo Boffin pointed out, "the Pope lives in Vatican City with any luxury at his beck and call"... I think religion is bullshit, but it's a multi-billion dollar industry.

James Randi makes some valid points where "magic" is concerned, but I don't buy *everything* he has to sell... sleight of hand is one thing, but paranormal activity is a totally different ballgame. I'm a firm believer in science and logic, but I have also experienced a couple of things that science and logic simply cannot explain.

Hope all is well with you, my friend...

Peace

160. Apparently you don't have a point, other than someone makes 75 grand a year?
Are you jealous or something? If so, more education, or a career change, might be a good idea for you....

161. Your not understanding what my point is does not mean I don't have a point. Try again.
Tell me a reason, one reason, any reason why I should care that you don't understand my point.

.. so what's your point?

181. You still aren't convincing me that I need to worry about your questions.
If I felt you had an iota of actual curiosity, I might deal with your question.

But since my point is easily understood, and given your history in dealing with me, I confess that I find no reason at all to bother answering your question. Help me out. Give me one.

186. No, your point isn't easily understood...
There are several ways your post could be taken:

Is your point that Gage makes a salary?

Is your point that he made the lion's share of the salary, $75,450, while the rest of the $107,417 was split between the others? If so, how many others were paid a salary and how much were they paid?

Is your point that you are trying to act like an authoritarian and tell others what to do with their money? "There are FAR better uses for your money than AE911Truth."

What's your point? If it's so simple, just spit it out and quit tap dancing around it... all you're doing right now is making yourself look like a fool who can't answer a simple question, nor elucidate/elaborate on your own post.

188. Nope. Still haven't seen a reason why I should deal with your concern.

I've already said your inability to understand my point doesn't bother me. So insisting that you don't understand my point isn't going to sway me. And insulting me certainly isn't going to help. Try something else.

189. I guess either you're just not intelligent enough to get your point across then..
... or you don't really have a point to begin with. Which is it?

190. I've already told you. Insulting me won't help persuade me to deal with your concern.
Perhaps you should try some other tactic to persuade me to deal with your concern.

197. How many billions did Larry Silverstein get from insurance
along with a refund of his initial down payment to Port Authority? Why doesn't that bother you?

OTOH, I do not support 9-11 "truth" organizations, because you can't make "truth" out of lies, and people need to research for themselves, not trust (probably) infiltrated organizations which use (possibly) leaked misinformation to draw their conclusions...you may be surprised at what you find...

202. A more complete question would be
how many billion did Silverstien lose or gain after the insurance paid him for his losses.

I find it amazing how uninformed truthers are about basic institutions like insurance. I'm no insuance expert but if you don't understand that insureance pays for your losses then it's no surprise that after more than nine years they have nothing.

other than difficult to lease, ugly towers filled with lawsuit provoking asbestos? and don't say they were full, because I have checked a number of the alleged businesses in them and most do not exist...

Good thing poor Lar had the foresight to get insured for terrorist acts only several months before the "attacks", I wonder if I could get terror insurance than hire someone to blow my house up, then get reimbursed twice for it. Is that the way insurance works Lared? Tell me ... tell me about being insured for acts of terror and the companies in Bermuda that specialize in that sort of thing, I really want to know! I could use a couple billion dollars, help me figure this thing out..

217. OK, "beautiful" asbestos laden, unleaseable towers
beauty is in the eye of the beholder: I prefer the centuries old, brick or masonry buildings that housed thousands of small businesses before they were stolen from them to build those monstrosities (IMO)...Never saw the old buildings, before my time, but I've seen pictures and it makes me sick to think of the craftmanship and livelihoods that were lost...

222. You obviously don't know what was there...
You obviously don't know what was there previously. It was called radio row and it looked and was dilapidated.

Only one tower had asbestos in it and that only up to the 40th floor? It's actually in the 30s but I can't remember the exact floor so 40 should cover it.
