... starts every lecture and every interview by stating his AIA affiliation and noting how many years he as "worked on" steel structures. You will never hear him volunteer that almost all of his experience was as a project manager, not actual architecture. Worse, never once does he volunteer that he has no training in structural mechanics, and in fact he does not seem to understand even simple concepts such as thermal expansion, shear strength of bolts, and progressive failure. If he has any knowledge at all of the WTC7 design details, he either does not understand or deliberately ignores why they are critical to understanding what happened, which in itself proves ignorance of structural mechanics. If he even knows the actual conclusions from the NIST study and the reasons for those conclusions, they make no appearance in his presentation, which belies intellectual dishonesty that ought to raise red flags with anyone even remotely familiar with critical thinking.

Not once will you hear Gage admit that the entirety of his knowledge about controlled demolitions comes from the same TV shows you and I have watched, and that the entire 'logical" structure of his theory rests on the laughable fallacy that if WTC7 falling resembled a controlled demolition, then it must have been a controlled demolition.

Instead, after misrepresenting himself as some sort of expert, he presents erroneous, ludicrous and contrived lists of "characteristics" of controlled demolitions and natural collapses. But these lists themselves prove beyond doubt that these are two subjects that he is unqualified to discuss, much less claim expertise.

It is clear that Gregory is reacting to Gage's sincerity in presenting himself as a expert and is unaware that Gage is presenting unadulterated horseshit instead of evidence. Gregory seems to believe that the technical community is just unaware of this "evidence," but in fact there is exactly zero chance that the nonsense Gage is presenting today will ever have any effect on more than a handful of architects and engineers of questionably mental stability. There was a time when I thought Gage's sincerity was real, too, but after watching him debate and noting that he persists is repeating bullshit that has been soundly debunked, it's hard to avoid the conclusion that he is a willful fraud and an opportunist attempting to milk 9/11 paranoia for all it's worth.

In the end, it does not matter at all who believes Gage; it only matters why they believe him. It's clear that Gregory believes Gage because he has been taken in by the willful deceit and pseudo-scientific nonsense. It's clear that none of the "architects and engineers" who have signed Gage's petition can produce valid technical arguments for why controlled demolition is a better theory than NIST's. That's sad, but the number of people who have fallen for demonstrable bullshit has absolutely nothing to do with the actual events of 9/11.
