The HSCA concluded in its 1979 report that:

3. The committee believes, on the basis of the evidence available to it, that President John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy. The committee was unable to identify the other gunmen or the extent of the conspiracy.

Yes, they also say Oswald did it, and they ruled out a lot of groups in being complicit. But still, it is remarkable that the Warren commission lone gunman explanation is the one that has been exclusively promulgated by the media.

The HSCA didn't "conclude" Oswald wasn't the only shooter. They acknowledged that acoustical evidence (and for the record, acoustical evidence alone) established a high probability that there were at least two gunmen. The acoustical evidence was later shown to be incorrect. Therefore, since it was the SOLE BASIS for the "high probability" that there were two gunmen, that probability disappears when the evidence is proven incorrect.

A and only A implies B in this scenario.

A is denied.

Therefore, there is no basis for asserting B.
