There was a documentary about this 10 or so years ago. I don't remember what it was called (maybe 'Kurt and Courtney') or who was behind it (it was a British guy, I think maybe a BBC vet). He didn't really uncover any evidence at all that supports this theory, although it did support the assertion that Courtney is a moron.

One thing I remember was that he debunked the accusation that Kurt couldn't have possibly killed himself with so much heroin in his system. They interviewed someone who was familiar with heroin addicts/treatment who said he's seen people with who had injected similar amounts pass motor skills tests.
