Perception Management.
Perception management is a term originated by the US military. The US Department of Defense (DOD) gives this definition:

Actions to convey and/or deny selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives, and objective reasoning as well as to intelligence systems and leaders at all to influence official estimates, ultimately resulting in foreign behaviors and official actions favorable to the originator's objectives. In various ways, perception management combines truth projection, operations security, cover and deception, and psychological operations.<1>

The phrase "perception management" has often functioned as a "euphemism" for "an aspect of information warfare." A scholar in the field notes a distinction between "perception management" and public diplomacy, which "does not, as a rule, involve falsehood and deception, whereas these are important ingredients of perception management; the purpose is to get the other side to believe what one wishes it to believe, whatever the truth may be."<2>

Perception management was also known as public diplomacy in the Ronald Reagan era; however, some people also argue perception management is now an accepted part of international strategic influence.

I believe these definitions are important to understand considering what is happeneing in the world and the lack of coverage and discussion in the public domain. Some here wish to call it "spamming" but maybe this quick explination will help them make a better decisions and bring them into the conversation. None of these have anything to do with "dungeon" topics, these are topics for everything from the ME, Libya, Fukishima, etc.

I await our discussion.

Thank you.

2. I was hoping for some conversation but it would appear the
mods are more interested in keeping things in entertainment section of news.

Since you took the time to respond I'm guessing you have some input about what is going on. Outside of the earthquake there is a lot of stuff is happening, Libya for one, very disturbing in my view how we are only allowed to cheer for overthrowing governments now. Also, Mineral Man brought up a good point of how the word "meltdown" has been surprisingly absent from the news but the world just experienced three of them in Japan.

Do you have anything that you are wondering why the lack of coverage of and why things like this OP is sent to this ridiculous forum?

Not sure what you you are "expecting" from me. Other then conversation.

Seems funny that the mods prove the point of the OP by sending this here. LOL

3. You might want to have a point if you are attempting
to start a conversation.
If I want definitions of words or phrases, I can easily go elsewhere.

4. Free association and thought exercises must be new to you.
Seems strange you followed the thread to the dungeon just to show how agitated you are with my post. Could be considered stalking by DU rules, don't worry though, I'm not that type of guy who gets easily distressed.
