WHY didn't this plane blow up in a huge fiery crash?????

At Least 14 Are Hurt as Small Jet Crashes in N.J.
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Published: February 2, 2005

It crashed into a building just like flights 11, 175 and 77.

What was the difference?

1. The difference?
No fuel explosion because fuel tank was not damaged

Going way less than 100 MPH when impacting the building.

Building appears to be a simple cinder block wall.

3. Where did this fuel come from then?
"All those taken to the medical center were covered in jet fuel and had to be decontaminated, but Dr. Feldman said that it was "an amazing thing" that so many people had walked away from the crash."

2. One thing that must be pointed out
The engines were mounted at the back of the plane, and didn´t impact the wall.

4. Yep-- good point. But still, jet fuel was apparently spilled:
"All those taken to the medical center were covered in jet fuel and had to be decontaminated, but Dr. Feldman said that it was "an amazing thing" that so many people had walked away from the crash."

Why didn't it ignite?

There were sparks all around.

5. Jet fuel is not as easily ignited as you might think
Fuel VAPOR, on the other hand is explosive.
