One of the flight attendants on board said the hijackers showed a bomb...

On Paul Thompson's site, it says that when the flight attendant on board Flight 11 (I think that's the one), called and reported the hijacking, she said there was a bomb on board. When asked by those at AA (or UA), she replied that te hijackers showed her something with some wires.

Now, I haven't heard of any evidence of any explosives (or firearms) on board any of the hijacked flights, and I'm not going to argue that the jet fuel couldn't have been enough to bring the towers down, but still was this discussed by the 9/11 commission?

My questions are, Was this just one way for the hijackers to scare those on board the flight? And what exactly was it the attendant saw?

Has anyone else (perhaps here on DU) discussed this or looked into it?

1. Yes, the 9/11 commission talks about this. They say it is a fake bomb

used to scare the passengers.

I guess some of the people on flight 93 talked about a bomb-like device as well.

There is no good evidence that these bombs worked, and the airlines don't want to admit the hijackers smuggled bombs on board, so they said they were fake bombs.
