There was a post a couple days ago suggesting that there was an unusual amount of military traffic at a US airbase in Scotland. The civilians who keep track of military air traffic said that it was similar to times in the past right before the US bombed Libya and the Gulf War.
Does anyone know about this?
I found this article on Truthout.org :
"Richard Perle Denounces the Franco-German Couple
The Pentagon Calls on Berlin to Get in Line
Reseau Voltaire Net
Friday 07 November 2003
Pentagon Advisor Richard Perle was on a mission this weekend in Berlin. Taking the side of German Defense Minister, Peter Struck, during a symposium, he denounced the deepening of Franco-German ties and their consequences for Atlantic relations. Responding sharply to the provocation, the former French General Staff Head, Admiral Jacques Lanxade, accused the Pentagon advisor of coming to stir up ill will in Europe. Mr. Perle had come to Berlin to look for German support for a possible U.S. military initiative.
French and German authorities have jointly agreed not to publicize this incident. In the European General Staffs, it is believed that Richard Perle came to Berlin to try to split up the Franco-German couple and get the support from Chancellor Schroeder necessary for a new military initiative."
http://truthout.org/docs_03/111203H.shtmlThis report along with the earlier one on this site (which I don't have a link to) suggest that the US may be in the early stages of a new military action. It could also be that they are stepping up against Iraq or Afghanistan, but if it is Iraq what is the use of large amounts of aircraft (certainly they aren't going to carpet bomb occupied Iraq). And if it was Afghanistan why would they need political support from Schroeder? There are already German troops in Afghaniatan.
Does anyone have any other information that points to a new military action? Not Iraq or Afghanistan.
Who could be the target? Is it Syria? Is it some African state?
Will there be some terror event that triggers this new action?
