Amazing-- the security camera on the London city bus wasn't working,
apparently like several airport security cameras on 9/11...

British Transport Police have recovered nearly a million used tickets from barriers across the rail network, hoping some will carry the bombers' fingerprints as they travelled into London.

But the investigation received a serious setback when it was discovered the CCTV cameras on the bus that blew up were not working so detectives will not get vital images of the bomber.

One senior Yard source said: "It's a big blow and a disappointment. If the cameras had been running we would have had pin-sharp close-up pictures of the person who carried out this atrocity.

"We don't know if the driver forgot to switch them on or if there was a technical problem but there are no images."

The bus had four cameras - one covering people getting on, the second at the exit doors and one on each deck scanning the length of the vehicle.

But the anti-terrorist squad are confident that other CCTV footage will help nail the three other terrorists.

Senior sources at the Yard said they were seizing film from an estimated 2,000 cameras in the biggest operation of its kind.

2. Oh come on
Cameras break all the time.

Papers fly out of airplane crashes all the time.

Perpetrators hang out with unwitting FBI informants all the time.

It's all normal!

6. It's funny-- they say the terrorists were probably home-grown recruits
Edited on Sun Jul-10-05 08:02 PM by spooked911
AL-QAEDA is secretly recruiting affluent, middle-class Muslims in British universities and colleges to carry out terrorist attacks in this country, leaked Whitehall documents reveal.

A network of “extremist recruiters” is circulating on campuses targeting people with “technical and professional qualifications”, particularly engineering and IT degrees.

Yesterday it emerged that last week’s London bombings were a sophisticated attack with all the devices detonating on the Underground within 50 seconds of each other. The police believe those behind the outrage may be home-grown British terrorists with no criminal backgrounds and possessing technical expertise.

But this is all just a clever cover story, isn't it? There is no evidence linking these "affluent, middle-class Muslims" to the bombings, is there?

15. meaning..we are looking for meaning??
how did 9/11 transform the USA into whatever it is today??

an overly militaristic society with way too much of a blossoming security state.

glad ya liked my home grown refernce..

I would add that the drug equation is noticeably missing in most of discussions about terrorists..9/11 ect...

illegal drug industry is fueling these terrorsits????

maybe thats why its so hard to track em??

and given the long history of alleged CIA involvement in illegal drugs???

ya wonder if they are not working awfully close together????

13. No evidence
I don't think there is. But technically qualified muslims were the backbone of Al Qaeda at one point (before it became as popular as it is now - Atta is a good example of this). It's hardly a surprise they're being targeted. My own personal view at this point is that there's no proof the people who did the London bombings are anything but tangentially connected to the AQ hardcore.

In that article you referenced, it states, "Senior sources at the Yard said they were seizing film from an estimated 2,000 cameras in the biggest operation of its kind."

This sounds like what happened to the cameras around the pentagon! Wow! Too many weird coincidences...
