WTC 7 question.

Apologies for my ignorance, as I am rather a newbie to the entire subject of 9/11 not being precisely as advertised.

Here's my question: what would be the alleged motive for destroying WTC 7? I agree it's very strange that it fell, and I have the impression I heard something on the news media on 9/11 about the NPFD taking the building down because it was so unstable. However, I don't understand why anyone would want to do this.

Considering that it contained the offices of the SEC, the IRS, the FBI, and the CIA, it seems like it would have been worth investigating, no?

2. Owner who recently bought the buildings made a lot of money

The buildings had major problems- losing tenants rapidly, uneconomic,
lots of asbestas, and would have had to have been brought down at huge expense not too far in the future.

Also, there are rumors that WTC7 housed information and evidence that some benefited by being destroyed.

3. Financial Docs Are One Reason...

As Phil suggests, since the SEC was in there and apparently held a lot of important corporate documents, it may have benefited certain people to have those documents destroyed.

Other theories indicate that if this was indeed a covert operation, the WTC planes may have been remotely controlled from WTC 7 or the main towers were detonated from the 7 building.

6. Seems there are easier and more reliable ways to destroy docs.

The second theory seems more likely and also freaking scarier. I have a hard time swallowing all of this, but I also have a hard time swallowing the non-explanations in the media for the fall of WTC 7.

The 23rd floor of Building 7 had received 15 million dollars' worth of renovations to create an emergency command center for then-Mayor Rudolf Giuliani. The features of the command center include:

* Bullet- and bomb-resistant windows
* An independent, secure air and water supply
* The ability to withstand winds of 160 mph
