I am very perplexed over what happened on 9/11
Hello everyone,

I am going to try and make this as short as possibe. Right after 9/11 I had given the president the benefit of the doubt and thought there was no way he could have known what happened that day would happen. Then I disliked him because i thought he used the tragedy politically. Then I evolved into thinking that he new something like this was about to happen and he let it happen. Now friends lately have been sending me main stream media coverage that shows the bin ladens were flown out right after 9/11..that heads of state from all over the world warned of an attack on 9/11...that many in our own government were told not to go to the twin towers on that day. I also read that a man that owned building 7 had the building demolished to gain insurance money. I heard that Bush's little bro was the head of security at the twin towers and was relieved of the job on 9/11. i heard NORAD for the first time in 50 yrs stood down....among many other things. Like skull and bones. before I thought it was just some lame college group but it is so creepy that so many so high in power are members. Both Dems and Reps. I just want to know everyones views on this and see some facts. i am afraid to think the President is complicit in all of this because it would have to mean a good majority of Dems are as well. The whole thing would just be too much to comprehend and really would bring into question who you could trust. I am not a conspiracy nut..i dont believe in ghosts, aliens or any of that stuff and I think the response to Katrina has gotten me thinking along these lines. Am I alone here?

1. There is an excellent 9/11 forum right here on DU. You'll learn a lot.

No, you are most definitely NOT alone.

Here's a link to the forum.

2. We used to call operations like this
a "fund raiser". I am not certain 9/11 was a fund raiser, but it is possible. It has been a question in my mind since that afternoon. The evidence is suggestive but not yet conclusive.

The general response of the community to fund raisers was to draw 45's and blow the perpetrators out of their socks, but there are always those in intelligence and covert ops who are willing to pervert the mission in order to accomplish it. For me, the question hangs and the suspicions grow.

4. The only thought going through my head when the Twin Towers fell...
...was "Lookit, they just imploded the WTC."

I believe that the conspiracy is probably even bigger than what we've been fearing all this time. It's just impossible to voice those things without sounding like a total nut case, so I keep most of it to myself.

5. Yeah
I dont want to sound like a nut or anything but if Bush really did along with the CIA plan this sort of thing that means that both parties would be deep into the conspiracy.

18. Yes members of both parties have helped the project along.
Sad but true. At the least the Dems have let the neo cons get away with it. It seems a small group of elites within the party are playing from the same playbook as Bush unfortunately.

6. The likelihood that there was a conspiracy...
has nothing to do with whether or not you are a nut. The term "conspiracy theory" has been deliberately degraded by the same people who have tried to destroy "liberal", "socialist", "anti-war" and other perfectly positive terms. These people are, of course, conspiracists.

Even the 2000 and 2004 elections, with all the evidence that supports the probability that they were stolen, are now "mere conspiracy theories" - an idea that is even supported by some liberals. It is easier to falsely demonize opponents than to fairly criticize them.

9. It most definitely was a conspiracy.
All we are debating is 'who were the conspirators'?

10. Complicity of some U.S. officials is well documented by testimony
to the 9/11 Commission
Dr. D.R. Griffin's books and
summary at:

http://www.flcv.com/offcom93.html

and there was a huge and well documented cover-up by the Admin. and 9/11 Commission

19. Yes. I just told my cousin...
If you want to believe that Osama funded and instructed 19 people to hijack four planes from different places and fly them to the other different places, all in coordination on the same day...

then you have to be clear with me, are you saying you believe in that conspiracy theory over the ones supported by articles I've sent you?

Either way, I pointed out, she could no longer hold the position that conspiracy theories are wacky impossibilities.

13. No
The term "conspiracy theory" has been unintentionally degraded by t the support for theories like the Moon Hoax, Roswell Aliens, and even some aspects of the JFK assassination.

14. Fox spend a lot of time on the Moon Hoax
The RW does own a lot of the MSM. It seems the RW in particular is pushing those crackpot theories.
I'm not convinced it's unintentional. It's conceivable, it's doable, and it's not something that i would put past 'm.

7. I see the mods have moved your post to the 9/11 forum.
They do this with just about everything that discusses 9/11, whether it is speculative or not. I wish they wouldn't but I have no control over that decision.

Of course you are not alone. Conspiracies do exist. There are laws against them. Government's do create situations to get their populations to think or believe certain things. The Nazi's did it in WW II (the burning of the Reichstag); and there are some historians who believe FDR allowed Pearl Harbor so that Americans, who understandably tended to be fairly isolationist, would be roused to war against the Axis.

If you haven't read David Ray Griffin's books "The New Pearl Harbor" and "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions And Distortions" you should check them out.

It helps to understand two other things. First, the Bush family are a criminal enterprise. Second, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney have been imbedded up to their eyeballs in the national security infrastructure (that is, highest levels of secure communications in chain of command, above usual military security) since the Regan era. They have been playing out nuclear war-game scenarios for over twenty years. On the morning of 9/11 several war games were being played.

Welcome to the club. I live about a mile from Ground Zero and I take it all very personally. Some fuckers, whomever they are, are fucking with me. I don't appreciate that.

12. If it's any relief, you're only half right.
The WTC buildings were demolished, but that's a fact that has nothing to do with Skull and Bones, or at least with Kerry's connection to it.

15. I'm new here too, and I have a question
New to this forum, not to DU. I've always been more than a little suspicious, but leaned toward LIHOP. Now I'm not so sure. I'm reading "The New Pearl Harbor" right now, and the one question I haven't found an answer to is - what is supposed to have happened to the plane that didn't crash into the Pentagon?

I'd like to know the more probable theories, without having to go through a zillion theories from the past four years if anyone can help me out. Thanks in advance. The more I learn, the more troubling it becomes (sort of like when I first began studying the bushit administration). I really put nothing past them, but can't for the life of me figure out how they would disappear a plane full of live people.

that is also covered in the book "The New Pearl Harbor" which I finished last night, but it doesn't answer that specific question that I can see?

21. I think it shows that it's fairly trivial to simulate the presence
of an airplane. Even a passenger plane full of passengers.

Trivial to simulate if the government, the military and various government agencies conspire to do so.

Regarding the Pentagon MIHOP theory: there never was a plane to begin with, so there was no need for anything to "happen" to it.

Eyewitness reports about what zoomed over the nearby highway and crashed into the Pentagon, are conflicting. Some claim to have heard a high-pitch engine sound more like that of a fighter plane then a large passenger plane.
There are reports about a military transport plane flying maneuvers over DC around that time. This and some planted stories claiming to have seen a passenger plane, the media repeating it over and over, and the inconceivability (for most people) of the alternative, would suffice to have most people accept the official story. Thus our consent is manufactured.
