While as the scope of this thread is educational, to prove that MH/CHAOS truly was the precedent of the War on Terrorism by virtue of the fact that on December 5th, 1972 Richard McGarrah Helms ordered an operational description change from "political dissidents" to "international terrorists" {source: Seymour Hersh NYT article published 12-22-74} and Richard Ober's clandestine domestic criminal activities against several progressive US movements {anti-Vietnam war, labor, black nationalism and black power, the women's movement, peace groups, civil rights, etc.} previously known as MH/CHAOS became The International Terrorism Group-also headed by Ober.

It is important to note the close ties between US political dynasties that were involved with not only US intelligence, but actually profiting with The Third Reich during WWII. Moreover, after the war giving an unknown number of "ex-nazis" {including war criminals} identities and jobs as Americans working in the accountable to no one field of US National Security.

Today we have DynCorp., Kellog, Brown and Root Services, Halliburton and The Carlyle Group {as well as many other factions of BFEE} involved with the Saudi's, Israel, Pakistan, U.K., Russia and international criminal groups {another legacy of the OSS use of the Mafia during WWII IMO}.

Back to the topic, how the criminal domestic program that used every resource of the federal government {as well as all local "red squads"} historically fueled by the hysteria of Cold War McCarthyism, godless communism, the Arms Race and atomic spies became MH/CHAOS after the publication of articles in Ramparts magazine in 1967 related to the activites of the CIA on US campuses, became The International Terrorism Group on 12-05-72 as Richard McGarrah Helms was shredding as much documentaion as he could before his "resignation" as Director of CIA.
