First all the ignored warnings brought up again at the Moussaui trial, with FBI Agents even testifying to their supervisors "criminal negligence" in obstructing their investigations. Then Charlie Sheen comes out of the tinfoil closet. Then CNN interviews 911TRUTH.org!!! Has the world gone mad?

"The time has come for you to say openly what you think about the unsolved crimes of September 11th, 2001. Yes, you. This isn't to say that many people don't still believe in the "Official Story" as the government tells it. But what about the many among us who just don't buy it anymore? It's time for Americans of conscience to show our elected representatives that they will be held to account.

You've seen the government lie about everything else. (Iraq comes to mind.) And you've had your open questions. Questions about what this government knew before the 9/11 attacks. (The Moussaoui trial comes to mind.) Questions about what really happened on that terrible day, the suspicious timing and circumstances. About the way the heroes and victims are still being treated. The way the EPA told New Yorkers the Ground Zero air was safe to breathe, unfiltered. The way the questions of the September 11th families were ignored by official investigations like the "9/11 Commission." The way the crimes in New York and Washington were used to justify wars that were already planned years in advance."

Can we stop the tinfoil hat army? Let's shut them up with a new investigation; there's nothing to see, so let's take a look at some of these unanswered questions and evidence of compicity. Everyone knows the 9/11 Commission is the definitive account- a thorough investigation that exposed the truth behind the most incredible intelligence and defense failures in American history. If they did cover anything up, it was only a little incompetence, and what if they promoted and increased the budgets of a lot of the "incompetents"- only 3000 people were murdered, right? It could've been a lot worse, and it may be next time, so don't say anything about the FBI//Pentagon monitoring of peaceful war protesters, or the illegal, unconstitutional warrantless spying on Americans that Bush lied about and said they weren't doing.

However, I suspect it would simply be condemned by the tinfoilers as a cover-up if it failed to concur with their version of events.

Certainly the rabid right would never believe even if GW told them he flew the planes himself, just like he flew that fighter to the carrier, but would you believe it if Congress, CNN or a jury said certain government insiders were guilty of compicity?

Most the tinfoilers, myself included, don't have a version of what happened - we simply cannot accept the government's version of what happened. I've never believed that there are no coincidences -- I forget who it was that said "If there were no coincidences, THAT would be a miracle". But that can only take you so far. There is a preponderence of evidence that the goverment's conspiracy theory is just not true. Their insistence on keeping to their story is, itself, evidence that there was a certain degree of complicity.

What we don't know is what level of complicity there was.

If a new investigation can explain why no jets could be scrambled in time to stop the hijacked planes, I'd be happy to hear it. If the structural engineers and demolitions experts who say that WTC7 could only have been brought down by deliberate demolition can be debunked, I'd like to see that debunking. If I can be made to understand how black boxes designed to withstand high impact crashes and jet-fuel fires could all be destroyed while a paper passport of one of the hijackers could survive without blemish, I would certainly appreciate it.

But I can't say I expect it.
