Doesn't an airplane seem like an unlikely weapon to attack the Pentagon?
Since the Pentagon is such a low building, it would seem to me that the most inefficient way to attack it would be to fly a plane into it, especially into the sides. Has anyone else found this to be a bit strange?

2. So Then Why Not Dive Into It From the Top - Instead of Hitting the Side?
Makes no sense.....

10. Because diving into the pentagon
is a far more difficult to perform accurately than coming in from the side.

Also no one seem to know if the Pentagon was the intended target. It simply may have been a target of opportunity.

3. But was it a commercial jet? and not a military drone equipped
with missile. I can't accept that story "flight 77" crashed into the Pentagon. Why doesn't the government
release those confiscated videotapes from the 7/11 100 yards across from the Pentagon as well as the Sheraton
Hotel's rooftop camera and the D.O.T. images located in the path of the attack.
All this doubt as to what hit the building can be cleared up with the release of information. what is our govt hiding?

7. Why are there no eyewitness accounts of missiles?
do you really believe that a drone flew over a crowded freeway, fired a missile, and no one saw it? The tapes would be nice but there were plenty of eyewitnesses - the desperate measures the 911 truth movement takes to ignore them is very revealing.

5. Especially since the common mythology about the Pentagon
was that it was build to withstand a nuke attack.

6. the pentagon
was originally built before nuclear weapons were even created. how could it be built to withstand something that was nonexistant at the time?

8. umm, not true.
Built during the early years of World War II, it is still thought of as one of the most efficient office buildings in the world. Despite 17.5 miles of corridors it takes only seven minutes to walk between any two points in the building.

I am pretty sure that WWII was the one the US dropped the bomb, no?

9. as you said
built during the early years of WWII. we didnt have the bomb until 1945. also the manhattan project was a highly secret operation. additionally we didnt know how powerful the bomb would be if it even worked. how can you build the pentagon to withstand an atomic blast when it didnt yet exist when the pentagon was built? how can you build the pentagon to withstand something that was extremely secretive?
im not even sure the manhattan project existed when the pentagon was built.

13. Strangely enough
The pentagon was built by Maj General Leslie Groves of the Corps of Engineers.

When he finished, he moved on to supervise the setting up and running of ... The Manhattan Project !!

14. army corp of engineers
they built the place the manhattan project was at. they did not design the pentagon to withstand a nuclear blast in the early 40's when no such device existed until 1945. how do you design a building to withstand something that doesnt exist. hells General Groves may never even heard of an atomic bomb until he was put on the manhattan project.

and general groves was the administrative head of the manhattan project but Oppenheimer was the man in charge of the research. Robert would tell Groves what he needed for the project and General Groves would make sure he got it.

16. I was pointing out the coincidence ...
Groves *was* the head of the pentagon building project.

The fact that he moved directly from there to run the Manhattan project proves your point, as he was finished with the pentagon before starting on the A-bomb.
