In trying to talk about the environment it became clear................
that he just didn't have the LANGUAGE for it. It was all he could do to keep from referring to the trees as "lumber". All his usual scripts for talking about the environment are tied up in the exploitation of it. It was a VERY awkward discourse. I was sorry that Kerry didn't slam him much harder in answering this.

1. how about when he said the trees had not been harvested?
Such a positive word for the raping of the forests.

3. This was brought up last too...
and I agree w/ your assessment. On issues of the environment, Bush* provides Kerry a door big enough to drive a 747 through. Unfortunately, Kerry wasn't able to park the plane last night. Hopefully, the next debate will provide an opportunity to bury Bush* on this issue.

4. "Lumber"! BWAH-HA-HA!
That was one of my favorite parts of the debate. Bush has no clue as to what constitutes the "environment".

But you're right, he got off light on the environment.

6. Kerry really gave Bush* a pass on the environment. While Kerry did
great in the debate, on this topic, he started talking about other issues in pointing to Bush*'s use of phony names like "Clear Skies" Initiative. He could have nailed Bush* - I think he may blast Bush* next week on the environment.
