Well, I am glad you realize that! There is a serious challenge to that credibility that is brewing now.
Before the Internets, you would report the news, people would listen to it, and much of the commentary and editorializing went on in newspapers and by word-of-mouth. It was your monopoly.
Now, you have a new factor. You have the Internets! All of them ;) If numbers are important to you, then you had better listen up!
Thanks to much of the obvious bias and partisan reporting in this election period, we now see a clearer picture. This has now come into strong focus.
We want, no demand, a REAL fair and balanced news media, not one that calls itself such and then proceeds to push its own agenda. We follow the money and we know who owns how much of what. We KNOW that, not only are you corporately owned, but that the diversity of ownership is diminishing rapidly and with that the diversity of information diminishes, as well.
We see a pyramid style agenda where the owners are not just out for profit, based on ownership of stock, they are also influencing, from the top down, the media itself. Compared to various INDY and Internatioinal World news resources, American media is starting to demonstrate itself as a biased, pandering filter of information, rather than an effective means of dissemination fit for a Democracy.
After this election, it is clear that there are going to be some major movements and shifts in a media revolution. If numbers are what pay your bills, then watch newspaper subscriptions drop. Watch the advertising revenues go down. Watch your website hits decrease!
Oh, and watch independent media flourish and grow in an inverse proportion ratio. You forgot the five W's and journalistic integrity has been forsaken as you blur the lines between fact and opinion, spin and information. If you thought the infowar was one-sided and media manipulation is transparent and effective, think again.
The Media Revolution has BEGUN!
