Question for the freeping rightwingnuts.
Constant and continual LIE from bushCartel:

--Kerry and Edwards are the first- and fourth-most liberal members of the Senate, says the "highly respected and non-partisan" National Journal.--

But the National Journal THEMSELVES have DEBUNKED this bushCartel LIE; Kerry is IN FACT listed as the 11th most liberal, while Edwards isn't even in the top 20.

We KNOW why bushCartel keep repeating this DEBUNKED LIE; they hope to keep duping you rightwingnut idiots.

But WHY do you rightwingnuts KEEP REPEATING THIS DEBUNKED LIE???

1. Because you're partisan Party Uber Alles liars

2. Because you're just a pack of liars who like to lie

3. Because you're such totally ignorant idiots, you didn't actually know that bushCartel have been LYING to you

Just curious which of the above 3 answers is correct.

2. Paid sub for NJ
July 10th 2004, National Journal's Richard E. Cohen (avail online with paid subscription):

COHEN: The bigger picture presents a more nuanced view of the two senators on the Democratic presidential ticket. Since joining the Senate in 1985, Kerry has compiled a “lifetime average” composite liberal score of 85.7 in NJ's vote ratings. Ten other current senators have a lifetime composite liberal score that is higher than Kerry’s. (See NJ, 3/6/04, p. 679.) Meanwhile, Edwards, who first joined the Senate in 1999, has a lifetime composite liberal score of 75.7, a number that puts him in the moderate wing of his party.

National Journal: Most liberal senators, lifetime voting
1. Mark Dayton, D-Minn.
2. Paul Sarbanes, D-Md.
3. Jack Reed, D-R.I.
4. Jon Corzine, D-N.J.
5. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass.
6. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.
7. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa
8. Richard Durbin, D-Ill.
9. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J.
10. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt

Your local library should have these issues for you to read. Or you can buy the subscription and read both issues online.

Washington Post:

Although Kerry has scored consistently on the liberal end of the journal's index since coming to the Senate in 1985, 10 current senators have a higher lifetime average, the magazine said. Edwards, just finishing his first term, has a lifetime score that "puts him in the moderate wing of his party."

A couple of things to know about the National Journal rankings: Kerry rated number one last year for the first time in more than a decade. Not coincidentally, 2003 was also the year he missed thirty-seven of the sixty-two votes tallied in the ranking process because he was out on the campaign trail.

Journal looks at votes cast by Senators and Representatives in three areas: economic, social, and foreign policy. Kerry missed all the 2003 votes in two of the three categories. So his ranking is based entirely on economic policy.

3. These rankings are ridiculous
For one thing, How can you compare the record of Leahy, who's spent 30 years in the Senate, with Corzine, who's been in office for four years?
