Not in favor of defacing B/C signs, but...
...is it legit to rip 'em down on election night, after the chimp concedes? Kinda like tearing down the goalposts after a big win?

1. Check with your city/county
They can only be displayed for a specified period of time.

I would love to tear down the signs, but I doubt I can.

As an aside, there was a large (two billboards) Bush/Cheney sign during the 2000 selection and probably a year or two after. I kept saying I wanted to shoot it even though I've never owned a gun. It's now saying, "God bless America."

2. I think it's better
if they have to slink out in the morning and sadly remove their own signs...

3. Please don't
I've had 24 signs stolen out of my yard so far. While it's a tempting target it's still a First Amendment issue, not to mention that it's also private property.

Besides, do you really want to spoil the fun we'll have watching the poor, miserable so-and-sos have to take the * signs down themselves?? Hell, get me some popcorn!

8. Trespassing, yes. First admendment, no.
While it IS trespassing, it's not a first amendment issue. First amendment deals with Congress making laws to limit freedom of speech.

On a side note - (and this in no way relates to the sign issue) If someone tells me to shut up - they're not infringing on my first amendment rights - only congress can do that.

4. Yes. And if you vote absentee, you can tear it down right away
no need to wait until the official defeat.

6. Nah, let the scum take out the trash on their own
It'll be fun to pop the champagne as we watch the bots take down their signs.
