Dean Supporters :My local news just showed a piece where Dean said
today is the day we start to fight back, the reporter said this was in reference to the debate last night. Did anyone hear this comment today? I wonder what strategy they will be taking?

1. He's entering the stretch!
snip>
After weeks of trying to stay above the fray while his Washington-based rivals hammered away at him on a variety of topics, the former Vermont governor said he was "tired of being the pin cushion" and fired back during a campaign swing through south central Iowa.

"The reason Democrats don't win elections in Washington is that they'd almost rather lose and be cozy than they would have somebody stand up against the interests in Washington. I'm going to change that," he said at a campaign stop in Sigourney, Iowa.

He said his rivals insisted on promising everyone a tax cut, health insurance plans, balanced budgets and anything else they desired, and "nobody believes politicians when they say that."

"We can't win if we keep lying," he said.

"This is what's been going on for two months and we're not going to put up with it any more," he said. "We've been attacked by everybody, including the establishment news media, the establishment candidates from Washington."
snip>

"I'm going after everybody because I'm tired of being the pin cushion here. If you do that to me long enough eventually I am going to respond and I am now,".....

2. Like it or not
you can't deny Howard is a fighter.

No wonder the democratic establishment is worried. He actually has courage.

3. I wish he hadn't said, "We can't win if we keep lying."
It's a backhanded way, even if it's inadvertent, of calling the other candidates liars, or politicians liars. Not exactly a news flash, but it doesn't make points with anyone.

Oh, Dean. Back up and try again. bush and his cohorts are the liars.

4. Will he still do his covert attacks?
Dean, above the fray? Maybe his covert attacks (plan A) on Clark have backfired and given his campaign a black eye, he now is going to plan B (Dean attacking head on) because plan A is not working.

33. How does QUOTING clark give Dean a black eye?

The only thing that seems to be helping CLark;s numbers is shuting up and runing from debates.

Every time he opens his mouth at a debate to try and pretend to be a dem... he screws up and says some crap like tech jobs going to india is OK.

I was so disgusted with Sharpton last night, but I think he showed his true colors(if you will) and turned the few he had for him off. GO Dean!

7. TODAY is the day? My dear, he's the one who started with "cockroaches"
He began the race as a fight against the other candidates a long time ago. It was clear his gloves were off, and he was not engaged in a sport with rules. He made enemies, I guess. It's fair to point out his faults (yes, he has them. He IS human.) But I think he thinks the tone of the debates has gone downhill, probably because the others are scoring points when they point these things out.

But he's not just beginning to fight. He came out of the door swinging a long time ago. But now the others are swinging back - to a lesser degree. I mean, no one has called him a name like "cockroach," which is what he called the others.

19. Dean didn't call anybody a "cockroach"...he said they'd SCATTER like
cockroaches. There IS a difference.

If I say you "swim like a fish", an I calling you a fish?

34. Do you even know the context of that remark?
No, you're going off someone somewhere said he said....

Dean was speaking of congress , and said if he won ,members of Congress were "going to be scurrying for shelter, just like a giant flashlight on a bunch of cockroaches."

Now, if you choose to say " I resemble that remark" what does this say ?

The only ones worried are the cockroaches.

22. Fight back what?
For the life of me, I don't know what Dean's fighting anymore. He's got numerous endorsements from all over the country. He's got Gore, Bradley & Harkin. What is he fighting against? He's got everything in his corner. It ought to be time for him to be able to show that positive campaign and rally everybody behind him. Instead, he's still fighting invisible demons.

So the media doesn't get a chance to air progressive views, thereby revealing the right leaning slant of Dean's policies?
