3. Don't simply assume they're whoring for Bush
Just because what they're reporting displeases you. I know the polls are not as objective and scientific as they claim, but don't simply dismiss them simply because what they say pisses you off. That's the kind of retreat from reality that characterizes George W. Bush's approach to governing. If there's a chance that the polls are accurately reflecting the likely voters' sentiment on this particular Monday, that's a fact that however inconvenient and perplexing must be dealt with, not wished away.

I don't understand how Kerry can universally be seen to have won the debates and yet be falling behind, but just because I don't get it does not mean it isn't happening. One of the worst things you can do in life is fool yourself, and at the moment, some people on this board may be in danger of falling into that trap.

We can't wish John Kerry to victory. We have to go out there and win, and that includes facing up to bad news, not simply disparaging its bearer.

8. They've been pushing "Bush Leads" all day and
when they FINALLY mentioned Zogby (long after I saw the info here) it was for a split second at the end of the litany of Bush ahead stuff... Very biased.

9. the only problem with this
is that they don't report the polls showing Kerry surging into a tie, back from a 4 point deficit. If they were fair, they would report those polls.

11. RAS and Zogby - who do keep GOP at 35% of vote - show tie.
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 12:35 PM by papau
45/45 for Zogby and 47/47 for Ras - and movement to Kerry

But those that use the Gallup method - and let both registered and likely voter populations skew to the GOP -now give Bush a lead.

Bush leads 52-44 percent among likely voters in a Gallup Poll taken for CNN and USA Today from Thursday through Saturday, up from 49-46 after the second debate.

Bush leads 50-44 among likely voters in a Newsweek Poll conducted Thursday and Friday.

Bush leads 50-46 in a tracking poll of likely voters taken Wednesday through Saturday for ABC News, up from 48-48 in the Tuesday-Friday period.

So is this whoring for Bush - or just incompetence? - and how would you tell the difference?

12. I think Bush had a couple of very good polling days
Thursday and Friday, but Thursday has now dropped off the tracking polls, so Kerry is rebounding nicely.

4. MSNBC used to be decent
That was before they fired Donahue. MSNBC went from being almost fair to being obviously conservative. It's too bad there's more money in conservative pandering than in actually reporting the news.

6. Did you see their piece with "undecided voters?"
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 12:20 PM by gtrump
Total hack job. They had a woman on there from New Jersey who was spouting RW talking points as if she were the Chimp's campaign manager. One guy was a total wingnut, the other guy who's Af-Am didn't really get to say much, and the young gal with the long earrings sounded confused but was still spouting * rhetoric.

Where in the hell do they get off? It's so nakedly partisan any more that I have just had to quit watching. I was unfortunate enough to be flipping through to CNN when I caught sight of this mess and couldn't stop watching. My jaw hit the floor.

Does anybody know who is in charge of MSNBC? I don't mean the CEO of GE, I mean the person who decides what their "message" is going to be, because it's getting more and more like Faux every day.
