Would Anybody Have Supported Tom Daschle for President?
Not that I would. I'm just honestly curious. I know he was planning on running, even put together an organization last winter, then, abruptly, called it off.

Not that that was a bad thing -- we're crowded enough as it is, and I can't imagine what he would've run on or based a campaign on.

But was there anybody on DU that planned on supporting him for President if he ran?

2. Not a chance.
He'd spend more time on the stump agreeing with Bush than the Dem platform -- kind of like Holy Joe.

3. Daschle is from a very conservative, Republican state
I prefer candidates from more middle of the road states.

The reason is that it will be much easier for them to carry their state and region. Remember how Gore did not carry Tennessee?

I think that Dean can carry Vermont and that Clark has a fighting chance in Arkansas.

4. I'd sooner have taken molten rebarb through my ureter.
I hope that leaves the issue unclouded.

I wish he would just go away.
