How Will You Spend Election Night?
Hosting a vote counting party? Going to one? I am going to the local dem office or to my sisters to watch the returns. I've already asked to be off on the 3rd in case its an all nighter.

And once there, I'll be drinking plenty of Champaigne with paleontologists as we watch Bush's concession speach, and Kerry's acceptance speach. Highlights of the evening will be the election of Ken Salizar and Brian Schweitzer.

That night: whereever I can find a bunch of fellow travellers who are also staying up all night is where I will be, probably crying through part of it, like I am right now.

He's poking me! Make him stop poking me! Can I have an orange? Is Jon Stewart on live tonight? When are they going to say Kerry/Edwards won?" Oh, yeah, a calm evening. ;)

27. Wish I Could Spend It With All of You
Since you have been my rock for the past four years.

Here at DU you have allowed me to keep my sanity when everyone else was losing theirs.

You kept me informed and educated so that I could discuss politics intellectually with everyone I meet. I'm not afraid to go one-on-one with anyone.

I sincerely hope we will all stay wired to each other after the Kerry Victory.

In some small way, I believe we made it happen.

I agree.. DU has kept me sane in the seemingly darkest of hours. I suspect that should Kerry win, we'll be turning our focus to the Senate as our court nominees fight for their floor votes. Just wait until Stevens or O'Connor steps-down.. just wait..

29. I'm going to a small party.
We'll have snack foods, t-shirts, blue candles, an an electoral map on an easel. I'll also have the 2000 State-by-State and County-by-County results on-hand so that I can see if Kerry outperforms Gore in certain states, regions, etc. And a chart of state-by-state poll closing times.

It will be a very nerdy lil' get-together. My favorite kind.
