1. I can't understand why...

...this hasn't come up already. Seriously. The man definitely has mental health issues.
For one thing, I know some seriously devoted Christians. I have two relatives that are even on "Gods'" payroll--one is a priest; one is a nun. I have spoken with both of them, and neither they, nor anyone they know, has ever been spoken to by "God". EVER.
Secondly, he's a pathological liar. Not a "fibber"; not a "B.S.er";
a deranged, pathological liar.
The problem with bringing all this up as a "campaign issue" is this:
at this late point, it would look like desperation on the part of the Kerry/Edwards camp.
But--who knows. I guess it's worth a shot.

2. Kerry is probably avoiding the issue

because it will look like a personal attack, and alienate possible voters - I guess.

However, the only person I ever knew who believed that God spoke directly to them was taken away in an "I love myself" jacket and kept in a rubber room for a while until the medications were sorted out.

When I think of infamous folks who believed that God was talking directly to them through history, and acted on what God supposedly said, I get really worried - and wonder if Kerry should address it.
