Bush is bringing "The Terminator" to Ohio to help him ......
with the mentally-deficient voters. Just heard on MSNBC that Schwartzenegger would join Bush to help him in Ohio. They must be really concerned to bring in the Terminator? They understand how important Ohio is in this election. Forget Florida - they plan on stealing Ohio this time.

11. Please, we don't need that as Cleveland's "image"
again.

Even as a Steelers fan, I don't think that that would be HELPFUL to Kerry.

4. Looks like Maria will put him back in the doghouse again--
Ahnuld just ok'd stem cell research over the GOP's objection--to get back in her favor, ha.
Guess that won't look like a flip-flop to the media for W to welcome him with open arms.

8. Yes he did!
Californians should contact the governor's office and tell him not to go.

6. Arnold in Ohio
Actually, Arnold has a history of participating in some kind of amusing muscle event in Columbus. He is well-liked there for being a fun guy and for having "accomplished" something. It is a bummer that Bush is using Arnold's completely unrelated "muscle past" to stir up political support. Cynically, one could think that this is a desperate move, but I suppose that people out there believe that Arnold's opinion matters because he has big arms. It would make sense that those are the people who are voting for Bush.

7. Where in Ohio?
Ahnold comes to Columbus annually for his he-man contest that is held here. The right-wingers just go crazy over him. It makes me sick--well except for all the hunky men in town.

9. All Californians should contact the Governor's office and tell him not to
go...

And send messages to your Dem friends in CA too!!!

Let's all let him know this is NOT what we expect of him and if he does it, he's violating the trust of Californians who overwhelmingly do not want George Jr. elected.

Also, he's said at least once (but I believe more often), that he wasn't going to campaign for George Jr. outside the state, so this is a broken promise.

Go get him!

This was my letter:

Subject: Another broken promise?

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger:

You cannot imagine my disappointment with the news I read today on SFGate indicating that you planned a trip to Ohio to support the candidacy of George W. Bush. I have to admit that I was pleased and relieved when I heard you promise, repeatedly, that you would only support George W. Bush when he visited our great state, and NOT on the campaign trail. I hope that this decision is not a precedent setting broken promise to the people of California.

You must also understand that when we elected you to office, we elected a strong willed moderate who captured the hopes of Californians all over the state. We understood that you would be leading from the middle, not from some crazed partisan stance as you and your colleagues showed at the Republican National Convention. We were disappointed with your choice to appear at the Convention as well as your speech in general.

You are letting us down Mr. Schwarzenegger and betraying your constituency here in California where we overwhelmingly oppose the election of George W. Bush. We did not elect you to be a cheerleader for the current administration, but rather to reach across the aisle HERE AT HOME and solve our divisions.

I beg you to reconsider this visit, and rather, to stay here in California until after the election to help us solve our own problems and build a better state.

Best regards,

David V*

10. Doesn't Matter
Ohio people won't fall for the shrivelled dick steroid king. All this will accomplish is a few more weeks of "no sex" for the Gropenfuhrer.

Just how drunk were Californians?

13. A lot of them were very drunk
But beyond whether or not it will do anything, I think we (Californians) should be writing the Governor to express our disapproval. I don't want him running around like a loose cannon stumping for radical right-wing wackjobs when he should be here working.

12. Arnies OH trip = betrayal but not a done deal! CA-ins, here's contact#'s!
Your CA vote may not mean much but stopping Arnold from campaigning in OH does. Come on, let Arnie know stumping for Bush in OH is betrayal and that you are pissed. DUers, pass this on to your CA friends. Still early there.

CALIFORNIANS invested Arnie with their trust during a tough time -- giving him a political cache he never dreamed of. And he burns us by campaigning for Bush in Ohio? It's a slap in the face. Take a minute and let him know how you feel with a quick fax from work. JUST SPOKE TO HIS OFFICE, TRIP IS NOT DEFINITE. Let him know it will cost him. We all can do this, DU
