I have this thought going through my mind today, Sharpton and Dean

may come together and Sharpton could throw his support behind Dean. Why I say this is because Sharpton is a smooth operator who looks out for himself. I say his attacks on Dean were for public consumption to leverage negotiation because he see Dean as the one he could negotiate with because none of the other candidates would give him a listening ear and remember also Dean talked with Sharpton directly after the debate was over Sunday night. What he wants precisely will remain to be seen but he wants to be in the limelight for sure..... I do think I am on to something here folks or I could just have a bad case of flatulence.

Sharpton likes Sharpton and is an opportunist, furthermore Sharpton repeatedly says this party has to be remade, new blood, and Kerry is not new blood and I don't believe Kerry will stomach Sharpton.

And how is Howard Dean, a man who has spent nearly a quarter of a century in public office, "new blood"?

Dean is a career politico.

His campaign's aggressive grass roots support is a much-needed shot in the arm. A real signal of change, to be sure.

The candidate himself, however, is not.

That's an important distinction.

to anyone dissatisfied with the party establishment. It would seem to me that Sharpton would fall into that category.

he said afterward that he doesn't believe Gov. dean is a racist, and actually applauded his willingness to openly want to talk about race. I wouldn't be surprised to see him endorse Gov. Dean, at some point (like after SC).

in the south so I think it has to do with his competing there.

11. The LAST candidate Sharpton would endorse is Dean - IMO. He thinks

that Howard has a very "iffy" record when it comes to the African American community. He also doesn't seem to like him too well...

15. Sharpton is going to bide his time

His "endoresements" are always timed perfectly to get him the most attention, the most in a deal, and to send a message to someone. I imagine Sharpton's dream right now is a tight two-man race, where he can give his endorsement to the candidate who cuts him the best deal and promises him a prime time convention speech. I don't think principles will have much to do with it.
