I think the front-runner, Clark or Dean should, after receiving the nomination, announce that EVERY candidate will be offered a position in the administration. Not only will the Executive Branch be STUFFED with talented, hard-working people, but it will bring disgruntled supporters of those who didn't get the nomination back on board.

I'm trying in the name of partisan loyalty to find a spot for Joe Lieberman. Someone want to help me out? What is YOUR Dream Team?

1. I like most of your choices

Particularly Edwards as Attorney General.

I think Lieberman would be good for several places. I think he'd actually be a decent guy to replace Ridge at Homeland Security (although please change the name of that agency), or possibly heading Civil Rights with the Dept of Justice, if you're uncomfortable with Joe's potential hawkishness.

4. I wouldn't change the name of the agency, I'd get rid of it altogether.

I'd dissolve the Dept. Of Reich Security, and the massive bureaucracy that goes with it, return the Secret Service to the Treasury Dept., and give the FBI and CIA the funding they need to prevent another 9/11.

That's a fine solution as well. Although, I don't mind a high level, small panel of expert-types overseeing American intelligence. I think that having someone with the power the ensure that the CIA, FBI, NSA, Secret Service, and DIA all play nicely together is a good idea that can make things safer here.

15. A different spot for Clinton

I'd like to see Bill in the cabinet, tho I'm sure he'd see it as a step down from his current stature. But I think HUD may be one of the most important departments in the coming years.

We're in the middle of a silent crisis in the country. The crisis isn't employment or debt, but housing. The rising cost of housing is a horrible drag on our economy, affecting transportation, road infrastructure, time parents can spend with their kids on homework, and the general quality of life in the nation.

25 years ago the standard line to people trying to plan their budget was that your monthly housing costs should be about one third of your monthly income. Today the average family spends about 50% of their income on housing--and this statistic includes the greater frequency of two income families than we had in the 70s. If you're working class you're more likely to spend more than half your take home on housing costs.

The money spent on the non-growth area of housing is then not being spent elsewhere in the economy. Most of the dollars spent into the housing industry go into personal investment capital and corporate fortunes, not into consumer items and service industry where more employment will occur. This creates a huge drag on consumer spending, which then has a depressing effect on the economy.

Add to that the real fear that the next corporations to come under mismanagement embarrassment may be Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, and you may have a very serious housing crisis exploding into the news in the next couple of years. We need someone on top of this problem right now, someone with both extraordinary political and management skills. If not Clinton, then a very short list of top dogs to put on this case would include Vernon Jordan, Kwame M. Kilpatrick, Robert Torricelli, or a bipartisan reach out to Jack Kemp, who may have been one of the best HUD secretaries in history.

It'd be great if we could have a president with the vision to head the next big crisis off at the pass, before it becomes a crisis.

I suppose we could put Joe Lieberman in as secretary of the Interior, as his environmental record is better than his foreign policy lately.

* - I flagged Kerry as Sec of State because it would have to be under the condition that he resigns from his Senate seat in time to have a good replacement candidate in the Fall election. Otherwise Mitt the twit would pick his replacement and nobody wants that. The same would apply to any other currently serving politicians with 'Puke governors in their states. (but I wasn't sure about the rest)
