Hello from Germany,
it's just a few days ahead. What will be the result of the coming election?

My prediciton is: Bush will win and this time, he doesn't even has to falsify the results. Bush will not get much more votes than Kerry, but he will win.
Clinton was the DLC with a lot of "charm"; Kerry is the same but without any "charm".

Is there any chance, after losing this election, that the democrats in the USA will REALLY change and defend the interests of the people again?

We know more in about 5 days.
While the mostly corporation financed mainstream-media in Europe is supporting Kerry, they are much more critical about Kerry's chance to win than DU. A lot of leftists and liberals in Europe fear that Kerry might reunite corporate interests worldwide, while Bush is just obsessed with the interests of some U.S. corporations. Personally I really don't know, if I should wish that Kerry wins...

But this is just about predicitons:

Kerry will win the electoral college with 303 votes to Bush's 232. He'll win the popular vote 51.3% to 47.6% (rounded that's Kerry 51%, Bush 48%).

I've been living in Europe for the past 3 years, and a lot of Europeans think that Bush is going to win, even though most want Kerry to. I frankly don't know why, but most of my German friends are skeptical about Kerry's chance of winning. I've never been able to nail down how they came to that conclusion. They just think that. So try not to be too harsh on Dirk. Oh and Dirk, not to be impolite, but I would suggest not saying things like that on the forums at this point in time. Passions are running too high for someone to get away unscathed saying Kerry's going to lose. He's going to win, by the way. :D

12. I have no problem

hearing what Europeans have to say. In fact I'm interested. I also understand their sketicism regarding Kerry's chances. After the last election, many here don't trust the counting of the votes, the procedure, and don't think the "right" person will win...not to mention the fact that there is much evidence that the republicans are trying already to disenfranchise as many voters as possible, and drive down turnout among blacks. Also, understandably, Europeans have no idea how the US talks about democracy all the time, yet rely on a bizarre antiquated system such as the electoral college. I don't blame them for that. I don't trust things here either.

Even I am hopeful, but keep telling myself not to get my hopes up too high. I have prepared myself to face a loss as well. Though it would be devastating, life will go on.

However, I am annoyed by statements like "Kerry will unite worldwide corporate interests". That is nonsense and if European leftists believe that, they are dumb as hell...and must be blind to the mess Bush has caused.

I just wanted to make sure nobody was going to bitch him out because they misinterpreted what he was trying to say. So many of my friends are curious as to what I think about the US system, and almost all of them don't really realize how many problems we really have with our political system. I've told all my friends that the only way bush would become president is though large-scale election fraud. I'm utterly convinced that he cannot possibly win legitimately.

I feel that Kerry will win this one. The GOTV has done a great job in registering new voters. These are all people who fall through the cracks in our polling systems here. The majority of these are Democratic registrations in the states where it counts the most. When you figure all of that into the equation it is a Kerry win.

Now on a side note:
We want Bush out very badly on this forum and are all pretty much worn out from all the work we have put into it. I also suggest that you not come in and bash our man. People are on highly emotional right now.

If Bush wins this election like you say then forget about hearing from us Democrats, never mind the people, for a long, long time...America WILL be a fascist state bent on world domination and you Europeans will be shitting bricks figuring out how to cope with our own version of 21st century oligarchy that does not include you in our PNAC plans....
A lot of people here want Bush to be reelected because they believe the second coming of Christ is imminent and they wish for Armageddon to happen...
I ask you how would you cope with a situation like this? All the cards in the deck are stacked against us and I think we're doing quite well despite it all, what more do you ask of us short of violence? Are you thinking we should have an insurrection in the United States? It would be extremely bloody and the result would not change except for the worse...
