I did some math Re: Cheney's 400,000 tons
You know, "If Kerry was president, we would have lost 400,000 tons instead of 380"?

380 tons = 760,000 lbs
400,000 tons = 800,000,000 lbs

380 tons took 40 truckloads to steal
therefore
400,000 tons would take upwards of 42,000 trucks.

380 tons took over a week to steal
therefore
400,000 tons would take over TWENTY YEARS.

And then there's the little thing, I don't think that many even exist in the first place.

5. Yeah, I wondered about that as well.
How did Saddam pay for that?

I mean, that would take almost the same amount of money the pentagon can't account for in the last decade, wouldn't it?

2. Thanks...I thought that sounded rather bizarre, too
400,000 tons just didn't make a lot of sense.

3. Much as I hate to interpret for the esteemed Dick...

...I think what he means is that the 400,000 tons (if that is indeed a real number) would still be in the hands of Saddam.

He would of course omit that they were inventoried, under seal and periodically checked by IAEA and weapons inspectors.

6. But Guilliani said 400,000 weapons on Today show
not 400,000 tons. maybe that is the difference?

8. Explosives/weapons - apples/orange trees
Weapons weigh lots more than explosives. I wonder how many tons an outdated Russian tank weighs?
