Rove's fake rumours de jour. Read them here before hearing them on CNN
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 03:46 PM by troublemaker
Karl Rove always puts out bogus "leaks" and "whispers" of what the campaign secretly knows. The following is a summation of today's *secret* talking points propaganda. (So *secret* they send it to countless thousands of people and post it on the net.)

Why I am posting this: This is offered as information about upcoming media spin and control, not about actual facts. There is no reason to think any of this stuff is true!! I am posting this so that when this same shit shows up here tonight as "have you heard about x?" everyone will know in advance it's crap.

There's a difference between rumours and top-down campaign propoganda. Imagine of someone says, "I'm hearing Arkansas is a lock for Bush." It is worth-while to know where that came from. If they said "Karl Rove says Arkansas is a lock..." nobody would give it any weight whatsoever! (Watch which media whores spout this stuff in precisely the same words as if it was their own hunch or something they learned independently.)
Just heard from a source close to the campaign, tuned in to the conversations at the highest levels... they have seen a huge burst of momentum in their numbers and expect the next round of tracking polls to show a bit of a bump. Internal polls show a big lead in Florida. Arkansas out of play. Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, and Pennsylvania too close to call. Michigan is seriously looking like a pickup - Bush and Cheney could be there four times in the last four days. Undecided voters appear to be breaking Bush’s way.

Ammo dump story appears to have left the Kerry campaign deep in al-Qaqaa. Tommy Franks is going to enter this story and rip Kerry and the New York Times a new one. The Kerry folks are acting like they realized they have botched this story, and want to shift back to domestic topics. The Bush campaign is going to avoid the Russian angle and go with the straightforward, “American people have a choice between believing Kerry-NYTimes-CBS or believing Bush and the Troops.”

(Link offered only because it's good protocol to link to cited data. Keep in mind that it's campaign propaganda, not honest information. Summarized from: http://www.nationalreview.com/kerry/kerryspot.asp)

11. Dante
Garrison Keillor said here (http://www.inthesetimes.com/site/main/article/979/)

"Dante said that the hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who in time of crisis remain neutral, so I have spoken my piece."

Though where does that leave the creator of the crisis?

And from what I remember, didn't the Inferno actually work inversely than the way we normally think of it? Meaning, the more evil the level, the colder it was.

And how can I manage to reply to a quick answer only to raise more pointless questions?

Oh yes because with the election five days away, I am quite quickly losing my mind!

Anyway, been reading awhile and finally posting.

12. Neutrals are left in the fore-hell
They don't even want them in hell.

And in the ninth level, Lucifer is frozen in Cocytus, the frozen lake of traitors.

17. :-)
Thank you!

I've been lurking awhile to get the feel of things. Got this site recommendation from a friend in Galveston. We're hopelessly idealistic Texans ... Now when he calls to give me news updates, I scoop him. heh heh

7. JESUS! While I was wringing my hands like Hamlet trying to decide
whether this post would be well received Skinner was posting the same information at the same time. So I guess I didn't need to be worried if it was okay.

9. what the pollster said earlier on cnn
he said a lot more of the states are beginning to poll 50-50. More states up for grab.

translation: states that were once Bush states are now sliding towards Kerry. Remember when it was * by a clear electoral margin. The numbers are going the way they want so they're resorting to more desperate measures to save face.

16. Flaw Bozo!
If anyone was swayed by the weapons missing debacle they are staying swayed. They aren't sitting around looking and hoping and praying for an explanation. That's what the Bush lovers do- not those willing to listen to the NEWS. They heard: Stupid Bush at it again. Let the weapons get lost. Add this to stupid list, and put a fork in me I'm voting Kerry. (Or as Jon Stewart said, "What are they waiting for, one more fuck up to put them over the edge?"

Sorry the truth is out, Rove. Retractions are way second best.
