"FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - With voters jamming phone lines saying they haven’t received absentee ballots in the mail, elections officials planned to mail out thousands of replacement ballots."
"Attention focused on a batch of 58,000 Broward ballots given to the Postal Service on Oct. 7-8. Though some voters have completed and returned ballots mailed those days, hundreds of others have called to complain their forms have not arrived. It was unclear how many absentee ballots were affected."
"Snipes estimated she would resend no more than 20,000 ballots, but about 76,000 ballots sent by her office have not been returned. Overnight mail was to be used to send new ballots to voters living outside the county, such as college students."
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6346293/NOW I SEE IT....It's the College Students they are trying to block the vote on!!!
Everyone on DU needs to Email the Young Democratic Organizations at Florida State, University of Florida, and all other Florida state schools....
If Local Kerry/Edwards Offices get the word out that they will assist in getting these re-sent ballots back on time, maybe we can do some really handy damage control on this one....
Florida DU'ers pitch in and give me a hand on this one....I'm contacting my county today.
Lots of these students are outside their county but are in State Schools here....if we can make it easy to get those ballots back, maybe it will do some good!!!
Remember Florida is a BIG state, it's almost 12 hours driving time from the Panhandle to Miami!!!
