Breaking: Kerry comments on Dept. of Agriculture
Edited on Fri Jan-16-04 04:11 PM by Bleachers7
I am listening to Insanity. He said Drudge has something on his site about Kerry wanting to get rid of the Dept. of Agriculture 1996.

I would like to note that Drudge is a lying peice of shit and I wouldn't believe anything coming from there.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush bypassed Congress and installed Charles Pickering on the federal appeals court Friday, opening an election-year fight with Democrats who had stalled the nomination for more than two years.

Bush installed Pickering by a recess appointment, which avoids the confirmation process. Such appointments are valid until the next Congress takes office, in this case in January 2005.

Pickering, a federal trial judge who Bush nominated for a seat on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, has been waiting for a confirmation vote in the Senate.

"I'm grateful to the president for his continued confidence and support," Pickering told The Associated Press from his home in Mississippi. "I look forward to serving on the 5th Circuit."

4. quote
"I think we can reduce the size of Washington," Kerry said on January 6, 1996. "Get rid of the Energy Department. Get rid of the Agriculture Department, or at least render it three-quarters the size it is today; there are more agriculture bureaucrats than there are farmers in this country"...

7. Kerry is a balanced budget guy who KNOWS where the waste is.
Edited on Fri Jan-16-04 05:25 PM by blm
`shift the Energy Dept. budget to searches for ALTERNATIVE energy.

He wants to shut down Stars War and tactical nukes programs from defense spending.

The small farmers need to get MORE money and the slimmed down bureaucracy can assure that happens. Kerry speaks out against agri-business getting most of the subsidies when they aren't the ones who need it.

11. Subsidies make economic development in the 3rd world impossible
as well as raising food prices for everyone. They are ~12 billion of the 20 billion dollar USDA budget. We need to have less subsidies, not more.

10. They hate agri-business in Iowa
They might actually agree with this. They desperately want farmers to be represented in Washington. We'll see where this goes.

why o' why would anyone believe this right wing nut when he doesn't give a source??? It's scary that drudge can say anything, even if it's not true, and so many people will believe it and report it as fact.

So when will Lieberman respond to this one?
