Repug dirty tricks?
In the last three days, we have had media attacks on three of our top candidates....

1) The ABC News segment of Dean's version of troopergate, which was as weak a smear job as I've seen to date...

2) The attempts to manufacture Clark's position on Iraq by careful editing of his Congressional testimony that didn't stand up to the smell test for half a day (sorry Joe, maybe you should have waited before you ran with this.....)

3) Today, the source of the same attack against Clark has come out with a story accusing Kerry of trying to eliminate the Ag Department....

It is clear to me that someone out there is throwing bombs in an attempt to drive the supporters mad in the hopes that they'll fire indiscrimitately...taking everyone out....

And that has all the finger prints of Rove on it!!!

So I would ask everyone here to hold off on the running of tales to the forum for the sole purpose of playing the game of gotchya!!!!

Don't let the repugs sow the seeds of dissent!!!!

4. RNC and Drudge?
The smear on Clark was reported by most media as sourced from Drudge and Gillespie made these remarks in speech in Ark. Reportedly these have been removed from Drudge and RNC website. I don't know for sure as I've only been to those sites accidentally.

12. Hard to keep track without a score card.
I think Gillespie's speech was earlier but since they are all reading out of the same playbook it's hard to tell who drew up the play.

10. smear still up at RNC
Try this website - they monitor the media for accuracy and bias. Articles slamming both Dean story and Clark story (Kerry story will probably follow).

This comes from columbia journalism school - it looks serious

3. That's why
I don't trust any criticism of candidates at this point. Saying something positive about your choice is much more effective.

5. There was also the segment about Dean's "anger" on
Good Morning America on Monday--this after Sunday night's 60 minutes with Paul O'Neill and his comments about georgie porgie...

6. Is Drudge's Kerry thing good or bad?
Drudge tries to shock with the headline but I think what Kerry said was a good thing. Does America really "want more agriculture bureaucrats than there are farmers"?

I don't think so... I know I don't.

This might be more of a shot at Dean. A "Washington Democrat" that wants to cut waste in government, one that wants to get rid of bureaucrats? That's not the type of Democrat one typically assigns the liberal Washington insider label. I don't know if this was Dean's attack but if it was, its a hard label for him (or Rove) to stick on John Kerry.

8. try this thread...
for a full discussion about that nonsense....

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=122108

looks like Drudge is trying to paint Kerry, cause Kerry responded....it is a hit that would hurt in Iowa....

It seems to me that the main cause of this is for the dems to spend more cash than is necessary.....the repugs are trying to drain our reserves....further weakening us for the general....

11. Good points!
I don't take much anti-Dem-candidate news seriously, whether I see it here or elsewhere. Someone will be chosen the Dem candidate, and when that happens, we need to be ready to pull together (unless, of course, it's Lieberman, in which case we're all sunk).
