my thought on why we lost and how to prevent future losses
we didnt lose because of god

we didnt lose because of gays

we didnt lose because of guns (although close)

we lost because Americans liked Bush more than Kerry. It's as simple as that. They were presented with two choices. It would have been different one way or the other had it been another dem. It was between Bush and Kerry.

we lost because they played offense from March, and we started our offense in late September.

we lost because of the tremendous right wing radio presence in rural areas. WE NEED to start buying up rural stations and providing mainstream veiwpoints. WE NEED a Drudge report style website to push talking points. WE NEED to be mainstream, but with a progressive core.

WE NEED to do whatever it takes to put in place a powerful advocate system in Colorado and Ohio to ensure they always go dem. They are priority one and two. If the south wants to shut us out, then we will shut it out. Close the ranks. With those two states always going dem, we wont lose an election.

1. they've played offense since 1980
they are relentless, brutal and ruthless. They are also organized and efficient.

They also know you have to control both the media and the votes.

Pretty simple.

2. We lost after the vote on res. 1441
the DLC tried once again to play it safe in order to diffuse the war issue -- ya, right, like fucking up the world would take a back seat to education and health care.
