I thought he would fuck up and bring such disgrace on his party that Republicans would be unelectable for years to come. I didn't think there was a chance he would serve a second term.

I figured 4 years of these criminals would convince even their base to revolt

there i go misoverestiminating the wrong intelligence of the Murkan public again.

I had reservations about two things:

Those who risk executing a coup do not put their power in the fickle hands of the voting peasantry (which they didn't)

The 2000 coup institutionalized a level of cooruption and voting fraud for them to expand on (which they did)
