I'm really liking Edwards

especially after seeing how well he handled himself on "Face the Nation," this morning. He was very knowledgeable of the issues as well as good on "presentation."

This is like being at the dessert buffet...so many choices...but only one can win.

Same here. And an important point is that he is positive and personeable (sp?)

Let's face it. As much as there are many angry Democrats who fueled Dean campaign, and angry Republicans - the "dittoheads" of Limbaugh, O"Reilly, Coulter et al - the American voters like their presidents to be optimists and positive. This is why Reagan is considered by some (too many, actually) to be the greatest president of the past 50 years, or so.

This is why Clinton won. Remember his theme song? "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow."

This is why Forbes - not dour Dole not sour Buchanan - won New Hampshire in 1996, with his goofy smile. This is why Mondale lost big in 1984. This is why Gore planted that smooch on Tipper.

I think that Edwards will come first or second in Iowa, first or second in New Hampshire and then will win big in the Carolina and this will be his.

And.. you know.. I will be perfectly happy with him.

One advice for him, though: in the Iowa debate two weeks ago, he mentioned several names - don't remember - as not having much experience in foreign affairs as he. One name that he should have mentioned is.... Bush!

Oh, one more thing. Dean and Clark have been running against the Democratic establishment and their claims resonante well with voters. And one way the voters can express their displeasure with this establishment - Gore, Bradley, Harkin - is NOT to vote for Dean.

of Southern voters. As someone who has lived in the south all my life,I can see his message resonating with many here. I liked him in the very beginning, but was worried about whether or not he had the experience to "weather" this, but after seeing him this morning I no longer have any doubts.

22. I disagree about Clark

He is not running against the Dem establishment...that's Howard Dean.
Wes Clark is running against Bush & the Iraq war. I have never heard Clark diss any Dem because of his vote or positions, etc.He has been very positive & only criticized Bush & Republicans.

Also, I like John Edwards very much. I like his positive campaign & he seems like a really decent person.

Yesterday when he was at his headquarters in Des Moines, the media just mobbed him after his speech, and in a friendly way. I have seen this a FEW times befoire: it reminds me of Bill Clinton in 1992, farther into the primary season, and also of Jimmy Carter in 1976.

I only have one more day to decide who to caucus for. I have it narrowed down to two, and Edwards is one of them. Refusing to go negative is a big plus. Even people I talk to that are caucusing for other candidates say they like Edwards.

15. As much as I try

to stay out of "who can win the southern vote" discussions (mainly 'cause they are redundant), I just can't help but think Edwards DOES indeed have a grasp on what the southern voter wants.

I actually like all the candidates and think that each brings something "to the table," but something about Edwards today made me move in closer to take a look. When Edwards was asked by Bob Schiffer (sp?) about Wesley Clark, and his campaign he refused to say anything negative, in fact, he turned it around and said, "Wes Clark is a wonderful man and I have nothing bad to say about him." And that was that. This is impressive, especially in a year of such negative campaigning.

14. Edwards could destory Bush in the presidential debates

He's a trial lawyer. He knows how to frame an issue and how to get complicated ideas across to people without boring them.

The motto of a trial lawyer is to be prepared- so you can back your words up with facts.

Edwards would make mince-meat out of Bush.

16. At this point, what I like is that we have bench strength.

I am a Dean supporter, but I am EXTREMELY intrigued by the way the campaigns are beefing up, seemingly, for everybody. Iowa will tell a lot but not everything. As the Harry Potter books would indicate, we've only just begun to put on the Sorting Hat.

I like Dean, but I am MORE THAN EAGER to support whomever becomes our nominee. Or whoever becomes our nominee. They all have good points (well, except Lieberman, but I'll support him, too, if he winds up being our guy).

I'd only really worry about the youth/experience effect with Edwards. But then again, he can point to actual experience at this point before presidency - that MORE than beats bush. Bush had to import all his "experience." He didn't have any of his own.

CSPAN, just prior to switching over to John Kerrys speech. While I like all the candidates, I gave my heart to John Edwards months ago. Its wonderful to see so many others joining us now. He is now receiving a respectable amount of national attention. The ball is firmly in his court now. More people will now have an opportunity to see what a great candidate he really is.

I've been flip flopping between Kerry and Edwards as my second choice and I'm picking Edwards because like Clark, he has run a positive campaign. THe slash and burn tactics of the other candidates really turns me off and it looks like I am not alone on that.

I've been liking Edwards more every day and haven't given him enough attention, I think.

I think he'd made a great president and I'd feel very comfortable seeing him win the nomination. Even in spite of the fact that he didn't vote against the Iraq war. Maybe I've just been won over by his personality -- he comes across as so honest. I need to review his record.

Though he is a bit conservative for my tastes, he is a solid Dem with an important message about wealth vs. work. He could do a lot of good for the Democratic Party and for the country as a whole. I'd be proud to call him my President.

I like his positive message. I have gotten so tired of the bash Dean/Clark/Kerry threads that it really depresses me to see how this thing is unfolding. I like all the candidates, but the bashing has tarnished alot of good that the Democratic party stands for and this will come back to bite us when we face Bush. Rove is taking notes and he is salivating to use these attacks against us--and make no mistake--he will.


As much as I like the other candidates, it does boil down to who can beat Bush and Edwards gave me a glimer of hope today. But who knows, this thing ain't over yet.
