Fear, Hatred, And Bigotry: The True Plattform of the Republican Party
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 05:58 PM by Homer12
This is how Bush won.

He feared people with the Spector of Terrorism.

He fueled the hatred of religious fundamentalists of Homosexuals.

He Fueld the right's hatred of the center and the left.

Republicans are the backward party of ignorance and Hatred.

Prepare for teh new Dark Age of our Democratic Republic

1. Since this was obvious a while ago....
why didn't we do anything to stop it?

3. I don't think it's possible to stop it.
Watch Bowling for Columbine again. This nation is built upon fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of 'others', fear of wild things, fear of everything. You run on fear, you're gonna win.

4. How in the world could it be stopped?
These things have to stop themselves.

7. Question was partially rhetorical...
...but as I've said elsewhere, I feel we were betrayed by our democratic leaders in Congress who should have been expressing outrage and telling us what has been going on. Our leaders could have played the opposition role with much more courage. Except for a couple, they protected their own interests and the government establishment to the detriment of the public.

The other problem has been the media. And this is actually something we can do something about. Consolidation of the media into fewer entities owned by global corporations with a stake in election outcome is dangerous and clearly played a part in this election. This has to stop and the public does control how it spends its money in this regard.

5. I'm afraid of Bush the next four years
I'm afraid for my children growing up under his incompetent, irresponsible, dangerous behavior.
Maybe the next four years will scare the shit out of all of the dumb-asses who voted for that loser.

6. We're guilty of the the things we hate Republicans for.
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 06:15 PM by GRocky
We've been complacent. We assumed that Daddy Kerry, Mommy Clinton et al could swoop into DC and sweep away the undesirables. The sad reality is that we're dealing with an enemy that is so intoxicated by power and so addicted to swinging it around wantonly. We needed to stand up. We needed fight. We needed to do more than wave our Kerry signs and sneer about the stupid incumbent president. There are people out there that think Bush is a man of the lord. They think he has the best interests of the working class in mind throughout everything he does. We need to get out there and prove to them that they've been buying into a lie. We need to unite, and bring this machine down. We need to throw the ring into the cracks of doom and cleanse this nation of the sickness that's destroying it. We need to regain respect in the world.

WE NEED TO FIGHT.

10. Our own self assurance doomed us.
I agree with both wiggs and GRocky. We let the fox news' and the Sinclair's of the world feed people right wing pap and we didn't do anything about it. The more I saw of Kerry when he campaigned the less I thought of him, he never ONCE slammed Bush with any of the lies he told. No WMD, lies about Saddam, AL Quaida, 'deficits are good', I'm a man of God. OH PLEASE!! Why oh why doesn't the rest of America see what I am seeing? I am at least proud that I am from Illinois where we were overwhelmingly for the Democrats. Obama played Keyes like a piano, and Evans sent Zinga back to her hole. I for one am going to start locking my doors because who knows what is going to happen with the next Patriot act. "Your neighbor says that he doesn't like the political signs you had in your yard so we are here to arrest you." It might happen, just because you are paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you.
