Who will Gephardt endorse when he drops out?
If Gebhart finishes third, which I think will happen tomorrow, or maybe even if he finishes second, he will have to drop out. He has no money, and unlike Kerry, Clark and Edwards his numbers are not moving anywhere outside of Iowa.

He could be out as early as Tuesday, and if he wants to make an endorsement before New Hampshire he could make a difference, seeing as how the outcome in New Hampshire could end up being close. Gephardt's 3-5% in NH could be the make or break margin for the winner on January 27.

1. Guesses
My first guess would be Edwards, but second choice would be Kerry, especially if Kerry wins tomorrow.

2. it's still early 2 consider
because everyone was saying the same thing about Kerry and Edwards.

But, if he were to drop out, I think it would be either Edwards or Kerry. More Edwards is my gut feelings though.

11. That would be a neat boost if he did
Why do you think he should endorse Kucinich though? The labor simliarities? If he did and we got his union backings, that would be nice.

4. you should say "if"
as we all know, Gephardt is one of the four who all have a chance of winning tomorrow.

But one thing I'm sure about - it wouldn't be Dean.

6. Edwards is the other "working man's" candidate
and there would appear to be no bad blood between the two.

But Dean may offer VP.

7. I think your question is flawed.
You posit that should Gephardt come in 3rd or even 2nd that would signal the end of his candidacy.

Please remember that Clinton came in 4th in Iowa and only 2nd in New Hampshire.

I pesonally don't support Gephardt, but that doesn't mean he isn't a viable candidate. And his placement in Iowa won't doom his campaign.

What dooms a candidate at this time is money.

12. Clinton didn't even campaign in Iowa in 92 because Harkin was running
and everyone knew that Iowa would go to Harkin. I don't think anyone campaigned against Harkin in Iowa that year. Harkin was assured a win.

8. Kerry
I think a lot of Gep's support comes from the seniority system, but not enought to extend to Lieberman's nowhere man campaign. Clark is too new, Edwards is too inexperienced and Dean is too much the outsider. So I predict they'll choose Kerry, if he still seems viable.

10. Bauer endorsed McCain in 2000...
and that was unexpected.

I think Gephardt will endorse Edwards, Kerry or Dean (yes, Dean).
