2. I am not voting in this poll, but I am betting that...
Clark will be the beneficiary, despite the fact that Clark is against IWR and the preemptive war.

9. We're electing a President
We already LOST the war debate. I really don't want to try to run on it again next year. We LOST.

When Clark talks on foreign policy and security, it is clear he doesn't need to talk to an advisor to know what to do. That is the kind of credibility anyone who says they were against IWR is going to have to have. A doctor from Vermont just isn't going to cut it.

And nobody was for this unilateral preemptive war and no candidate supports Bush's preemptive doctrine. That's just a total red herring.

Bottom line, I want a candidate who can win. I believe Kerry can, I believe Clark can. The rest I have serious doubts.

23. We haven't LOST the war debate--the war is still going on!
The Iraqi people don't want to live under an American jackboot, or under an American-sponsored Saddam, like that sniveling puke Chalabi.

People are dying in Iraq everyday, and most of them are innocent Iraqi civilians being killed by American bullets.

We haven't lost the war debate--the war is still going on!

You can expect thousands of antiwar demonstrators at the Republican and Democratic conventions next year.

Get used to it! We won't be silenced until the last American soldier, bureaucrat, and contractor is out of Iraq!

BTW, Kerry did endorse pre-emptive war today in a story posted in LBN.

3. Clark
Kerry people, if you vote please sign in. I used to would have been for Edwards, but Clark is strongest against Bush. I don't want to take any chances. I also like Gephardt because he's always been for the working people.

43. Saying something doesn't make it so.
Otherwise, Dean would actually have a record of Democratic accomplishment, instead of that of a GOP lickspittle.

Here's somthing that IS true. Ho-Ho is a draft dodger. That's why, no matter how angry his supporters act, Coward Dean is unelectable.

10. You aren't going to get accurate results from this you know
According to the last presidential poll Kerry has 38 people on DU who listed Kerry as their first choice. It's 2am and you already have 11 votes, 10 of which are for Clark. Almost a third of those DUers who prefer Kerry are here at this hour? Unlikely. There are all kinds of pro Clark threads being posted right now.

It doesn't take a brain surgeon...

They are not scientific. ;)

Actually, I'm just trying to get some instant gratification from a nagging question. I am learning that a majority of people who responded to this poll have picked Clark.

27. Here's a clue that it's not real Kerry supporters voting
There is only ONE vote that chooses the "It will be Kerry" option. If this were a poll asking the same thing to Dean supporters, ever supporter would be choosing the Dean option. I highly doubt that Kerry supporters would choose Clark and Dean OVER Kerry.

29. The question is: "Kerry People: Whom Do You Prefer, if not Kerry?"
Assuming that Kerry drops out after SC, who will the Kerry supporters support?

The problem with this poll, as all DU polls, is that we have no way of telling how many of the people voting are really Kerry supporters.

As I said earlier, I am not voting in this poll.

26. It doesn't take a brain surgeon
or even a rocket scientist. Your math and logic are fuzzy. I'm sure there are more than 38 Kerry supporters on DU, do you think all of them voted in the poll you referenced?

And by the way, DU is not on a time delay, it's real time and on the West Coast it's only 11:30.

Oh, and I also voted Clark.

34. Edwards- The GOP really IS scared of him
I have heard the most convincing descriptions which point out the following:
1. He could win crucial southern states.
2. He is really bright and articulate.
3. He is incredibly smooth and pleasant and projects positive asscoiations.
4. He, like Clinton, came from a humble background and has the self-made man image.

I like Clark, but his lack of campaign experience make me cautious.

41. Here's some info from NH about second choice
This is from a poll in NH in mid-Nov:

Likely Democratic primary voters who expressed a preference for a candidate were also asked who their second choice would be in the New Hampshire primary. Overall, voters were rather evenly split between Kerry (21%), Dean (17%), Clark (14%), Edwards (11%), Lieberman (11%), and Gephardt (10%) with 5 percent favoring some other candidate and 11 percent undecided. One-third of Dean voters (30%) say they prefer Kerry as their second choice, 39 percent of Kerry voters say they prefer Dean.

Kerry people tend to be liberals who are into progressive solutions, and they're staunch environmentalists, and also believe in the Tough Dove approach to foreign policy and military issues.
