I think they will represent an amazing thing to the
Country and represent our Party well.
I am a longtime Clark supporter but I recognize Kerry may
be catching on. He may fizzle past New Hampshire but we
will see.
Either way, I see it as a WIN-WIN for me. I like Clark
and I like Kerry. Frankly, they both represent the best
in America.
This is my "hot button issue" and I am glad to see Kerry
emphasizing it:
Energy Plan
Making the United States a Safer, Cleaner and Stronger Nation
Creates 500,000 New Jobs Over the Next Decade and Provides Assistance to Assure American Industries Will Lead the New Energy Economy.
John Kerry has outlined an energy plan that will reduce our dependence on Mideast oil, assure that American industries and ingenuity will lead the new energy economy, and protect our environment. Americans spend more than $20 billion each year on oil from the Persian Gulf -- often from nations that are unstable and hostile to our interests and our values. Kerry believes that we must end this dangerous dependence because it leaves American security and the American economy vulnerable. Kerry’s plan will reduce oil dependence by two million barrels of oil a day, as much as we currently import from the Middle East.
http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/energy/plan.htmlI also like how Kerry pointed out that Energy should be our
"next Apollo mission" as opposed to Space Travel. We will
yield huge humanist and economic gains by putting all our efforts
into alternative energy.
Kerry has done and said some really dumb things in this Election
but I still respect and like him.
And finally, I think we need to put a Vietnam Vet in the White
House. We asked many of them to die or lose a limb for us and we
need to pay back with respect and honor. I believe the Vietnam
War was a drastic humanitarian and political catastrophe but
nonetheless when people serve our Country and do as we ask
them to do to protect us, they deserve our service in return.
The fact that Kerry came back and protested against the war
enhances him in my eyes. Clark staying on in Military is also
worthy of praise. Either one of them shows the world that the
Democratic Party knows how to pay for our Freedom with courage,
honor, and sacrifice. That's something many of the top GOP
leaders just don't know how to do. Frankly, many of the top
GOP leaders are cowards, plain and simple. Only when we put
someone up there where courage is plain to compare and contrast,
can we point out that Bush is an AWOL deserter and a chickenhawk.
