I went to a party with Kucinich supporters last night.
These are people I have known for a while. We have drawn our battle lines around eachother. Everyone in the room was for DK except me and my friend. My friend and I like Clark and DK. His vote depends on what's going on in NY. My vote is solid for Clark unless he is out and DK is still there.

They said their #2 was Sharpton which I found interesting. I have heard some of that here. Sharpton is polling better than DK in most polls. I asked them who their #3 was and they hadn't thought about it. I asked them about Dean and they said that they did not like him. We have seen some of that here at DU. I asked about Clark. They are nervous about him because they are worried he was once a republican (which is not true) but they weren't nearly as hostile.

Just wanted to share my evening.

1. I've missed the last couple of meetups.
Working too many hours to do the 2 hour round-trip during the week. So I don't know what the local DK supporters think about Clark. I haven't heard anything, positive or negative about any of the other candidates, with one exception. Dean. I've yet to find a DK supporter who likes Dr. Dean.

2. Let me also share an anecdote.
I was playing on a poker machine in the lounge of a restaurant downstairs from the hotel I manage. I could overhear some of the guys in the kitchen talking. These are typical people who aren't rabid about politics. One of them was asking the other if he thought Clark would win the nomination. The other one said something to the effect of "Are you kidding? Dean is so far ahead in the polls...and Clark is just a Republican anyway." Let it be known that I have NEVER discussed politics with these guys and so they got that from somewhere else besides me.
