I've been reading many threads here about the recounts, the fraud, and many people who still think Kerry might be sworn in on Jan. 20. However, I think at this point, nothing short of a miracle will make that happen. The electors meet in less than two weeks, and none of the recounts have even started yet (except for NH, but we won there already). Though I completely support the effort, even if fraud is uncovered, it will probably be too late to do anything for the 04 election.
But my point is this, even though 4 more years of BushCo is looking inevitable, we cannot simply hibernate for 4 years, and hope that by election day in 2008 everyone will have come to their senses and realized just how bad this administration is. That is not going to happen. If we don't make a concerted effort, the cooperate media will convince people that things aren't so bad, and they will vote accordingly. What we need to do is take advantage of the situation, and turn this defeat to our advantage. It's almost poetic justice Bush got another term, because now he's going to have to deal with all of the problems his policies have created. Since we are not in control of any branch of the government, we are in the perfect position to be highly critical of every misdeed of this administration and congress. We absolutely must hold the Pukes in office accountable for everything they do; starting NOW. We already know we can't simply count on the democrats in congress to do this for us. We must take it upon ourselves. I believe this is our best path to victory in 06, 08 and beyond.
