CNN whores for the Pentagon

Wolf Blitzer just had a piece on about the questions troops asked Rumsfeld about lack of armor, stop-loss, etc.

Barbara Starr, CNN's Pentagon correspondent, comes on and says the people at the Pentagon she talked to (unnamed) say they don't know what the heck that soldier was talking about regarding having to scavenge in landfills for pieces of armor.

Then Blitzer brings up Rumsfeld's lame excuse (we're making armored Humvees as fast as we can and we are shipping armored equipment from where it isn't needed to here). Blitzer said that might be a good excuse a few weeks or months into a war, but not two years later. So Barbara Starr replies, "Well they're making 400 of them a month and they are going as fast as they can."

And then they have one of their military experts -- ret. Gen. Don Shepherd -- come on and ask him about scavenging through landfills for armor. He said he suspects that just those plucky troops being innovative.

Geez. It's really bad when you have to depend on Wolf Blitzer to be the only one not on his knees.
