"Intelligence" = Secrecy = Corruption

Whats the saying "We are only as sick as our secrets?"

Seems it certainly applies with our current governing bodies these days.

How can our so called leaders vote for an Intelligence bill that has so very little to do with Intelligence or logical remedies? Please tell me if I am missing something.

What seems clear to me is it has to do with further abuse of power and further invitation of innocent AMericans being interrogated and condoning of such abuse to occur. Havent we seen enough with Guantanamo and Iraq, or are many of our own leaders totally ignorant?

Not only did our Congress have the audacity and hypocrisy to pass the highly abusive Patriot I act, now they have further emboldened that abuse enacted by Patriot I, (as far as I can see) by passing the Intelligence Bill. How can they do this with a straight face? Was it Billings Montana that just passed an anti-Patriot Act provision yesterday?

I will say, Americans are now being forced to look at the total lack of leadership we have, the level of corruption and special interests that have taken over our leaders, Washington, and it is apparent they have little if any consideration for Americans at large.

Congressman Pelosi supported this bill. She also has been highly supportive of anything to do with the staunch defense and maintanence of all Israeli funding, stating "they have a right to protect themselves". I am always curious why the Palestinians are never included in this equation? For the record, I have no interest in religion or dogmatisme of any type.

We have to ensure and fight for election reform. Because this type of leadership is threatening our Democracy. I am wondering if they have even read the bill. Another question would be how can Congress pass a bill they have not fully read? They did this with the Patriot Act as well.

2. Dont pass. I want to understand what is occuring to our govt.

Why the conflicts of interest and the further abuse on our Constitution and our rights as citizens.

Don't run from a discussion. Please add to it. I very well could be wrong. At this point we should all be looking for the truth. Its certainly in our own best interest.

3. Byrd, Kucinich and McDermott opposed the intelligence bill

So a few of our leaders have some intelligence. Unfortunately they are not the designated leaders.

And I would add a few others including some Republicans who saw the extreme hazards in this legislation.

5. And it's time these individuals become our "designated leaders".

For individuals like Byrd, Kucinich and McDermott have shown true leadership by making their decisions BASED on the highest interest of all Americans and more importantly, their constituents, not by trying to glitterize and paint a piece of legislation as progress, when in fact looks like more step back to McCarthyism and/or fascism in the name of "safety".

These individuals, Byrd, Kucinich, and McDermott didn't cave to corporations, lobbyists, special interests and/or perhaps intimidation and realized our Democracy is too vulnerable to allow such illogical legislation to be passed.
