British House of Commons: Hilarious!!!

Watching a British House of Commons debate is so funny... I wish the American Senate was this exciting!

Reminds me of a Monty Python skit!

1. I LOVE watching the British House of Commons!

It's a free-for-all and I love the fact that the politicans have to think on their feet. It's great when they grill Tony Blair, LOL! If we had it here, * wouldn't have lasted 2 says in the WH.

the Commons is always fun to watch, you get a sense they are genuinly trying to represent their constituents when they but their whole effort, body and emotion into it.

What's with that room? It looks like a bus station.

But I agree that it's much more entertaining.

9. Premium on space

The House of Commons and House of Lords are located in the Palace of Westminster. The Commons Chamber was destroyed by German bombs during WWII. It was rebuilt from designs dating back to the 1840s (much of the Palace burned in the Great Fire of 1834), when there were far fewer MPs around.

Another space problem is one side of the Palace sits right on the bank of the Thames, and the House of Commons is abutted by Big Ben. So there's little room for expansion! It seats only 427 of the current 659 MPs. That's why when something big is going on like the Queen's speech, you'll often see an overflow of MPs clogging up the gangway, the open floor in the middle of the chamber.

It is clear that a complete moron wouldn't survive in their political system. It filters out the idiots so only those who are knowledgeable, rational, and quick on their feet can lead their country.

The American political system? Well, its pretty much like night and day.
