Poll question: Will following DLC advice guarantee we will lose all future elections?

The DLC is taking on the people who are most responsible for giving us those millions of votes in the last election. They are attacking Michael Moore and anyone else who is helping the Democratic Party. They seem, to me to have sold out to the RNC, and to be willing to hand all future victories over to the Bush criminals by becoming a cheerleading section for the Bush agenda.

2. I agree with Andy. I'm not sure a Democrat will ever win another election

in any high office. They might let some local Democrats win as to not look SO obvious. We have to face it people. They own the voting equipment and the vote counters. If we can't change that, all the money, canvassing, getting out the vote, all the things we did better than ever this past election, won't mean diddily shit.

Now, how do you go about changing the way we vote if they control that also?

3. We need an American Chartist movement for electoral reform

The Charter would include something like this combination.

1)abolishing the Electoral College or making it proportional
in each state.

2)instant runoff voting at all levels.

3)removing the size limit on the U.S. House(capped at 435 members in
1920 when the population was half the current size)

4)taking vote counting and congressional redistricting out of the
control of elected partisan officials.

5)same day voter registration in all states.

DLC/DNC will try to win if it's one of their trusted political
hacks running and there are no grass-roots movements to be crushed.
And we could win anyway if another political genius outsider like
Clintoon comes along. Or the Repukes could throw the race if they
had a grass-roots movement to crush, like say the Xtian fundies.

7. My point is that we can have someone more popular than Clinton when

he left office and it wouldn't matter at all. The Republicans can put someone like Chuck Hagel up who appears to be moderate, when in fact he had some shady dealings with his own machines to get elected, and the reality is that the far-right Repugs will CONTROL all elections well into the future and that will keep any Democrat from winning. Ever. They own the machines and the people who count the votes (Secretary of States and Supervisor of Elections, plus local precinct leaders ). And doesn't it appear to you that repugs everywhere are getting away with everything? I don't see that stopping anytime soon. All those smug looks on the 0'Lielly's, Coulter's, Hannity types and people like Kenneth Blackwell are because they have gotten the word. The repugs own the political system now by owning the outcomes of every damn election.

I can imagine a 5 million person march in DC or many places all over the United States and the repugs will still win more House and Senate seats in 2006. I don't know how we change this if we can't completely change the voting system. To me, at this point in my life, and I'm sadder than hell to say it, I don't see any way out of this. Our stoic attempt at a Republic/Democracy is no longer in effect. We are a one party country.

And what really pisses me off, is that you read these articles that say the "liberals" have lost because they are not in tune with middle America when the only thing the liberals have lost is the same thing the whole damn country has lost; not even CLOSE to honest elections.

8. I'm not that pessimistic yet.

I do think a reform of the voting system is called for.
I don't think the Repuke leadership is any more enthusiastic about
charismatic political leaders that can challenge their power than
the Democratic leadership. They both only really like obedient
suit-droids.

You don't "play nice" with people who aren't nice. Michael Moore's right: people are much more liberal than not in this country.
