Poll question: Do you believe Kerry won the popular vote?

The tabulators were rigged across the country. They had the ability to rig the results to make them more pro-Bush in every state in America. I and others predicted, in advance, that Kerry would win and no one would know it. If they wanted to rig the election and had the ability to do so to make it look like Bush won the popular vote, what would hold them back? Ethics? Knowing what I did about the riggability of the BBVs and the tabulators, I couldn't believe anyone expected Kerry to look like a winner election night. I was hoping those saying Kerry would win knew something about the vote-rigging situation I didn't.

Remember the long lines of people voting for Kerry. How many Bush supporters do you personally know? How many people do you know who were voting for Kerry? How many people do you know who voted for the first time for Kerry? The religious right is 9 million strong. They might be able to stretch it with family and friends and outreach to 19 million maximum. Not enough for a Bush victory. The exit polls could not be right in the Ukraine and wrong in America.

I voted agasint Bush in the election. But I voted for him in this poll.

"How many Bush supporters do you personally know? How many people do you know who were voting for Kerry?"

I know a lot in both categories.

If you think that Bush got no more than 19 million votes, you are in major error.

And if you think that religion is the only reason that people voted for Bush, you are also seriously mistaken.

2. I live in one of the most conservative counties in America.

Eveyone I know voted for Kerry, including the people who were in the demographic groups that should have voted for Bush. People in this conservative Republican county absolutely hate Bush.

6. I hope so - hard for me to know what to believe anymore.

I'm almost willing to believe that Bush legitimately won ("almost" because cheating comes as natural to them as breathing so I "know" they cheated plus we have some evidence) because we didn't do a good job of differentiating ourselves from the Republicans. We sided too much with corporate America at a time when people are disgusted with corporate America.

I'm sure they cheated but still could have legitimately won. I know several very intelligent Republicans/Independents who voted for Bush because they loathed Kerry and Bush was "the devil we know". Sad to say about them but true.

9. All you had to do is drive through the midwest and south....

To understand that Bush did indeed win the popular vote. I believe a lot of people simply refuse to face up to the facts of a changing electorate. Instead, many continue to float conspiracy theories which, thus far, have not come close to being proven. If there was some sort of wide-ranging conspiracy to rig the vote by a number of different vote machine companies, don't you think there would be at least ONE whistleblower employee from one of them? JUST ONE! But no, there is no one.

11. I honestly don't know

I've seen all the theories about fraud & manipulation, but it hasn't been proven.

I've also read & heard about the superior get-out-the vote effort that the Repubs had. I saw a Dems operative in New Hampshire, & he said it was so close because the repubs ran circles around them.

And to answer your question, I know people who voted Bush in very blue states. That's why the blue states were closer this time.

Finally, I don't personally know one person who LOVES Kerry, but I know people who LOVE Bush.

13. You Hit the Nail on the Head

Many of the red states are VERY red. I live in New Hampshire. The Reds were out in force. Even with a very unpopular Republican Governor losing, the race was close.

Kerry was considered a blue nose by many up here. These people like mavericks. Dean or McCain would do well in NH. Remember, we voted for Henry Cabot Lodge and Gene McCarthy.

I know many people who voted for Bush. Some even told me they thought Kerry was smarter and had better ideas, but they voted for Bush anyhow....some out of party loyalty, some because of the last-second Osama video, some because of peer pressure at church and country club.

I am willing to believe there was some voter suppression and fraud around the edges...there is in every election, although in 2000 there was more than usual...but the sleazy stuff wasn't enough to swing things that much by itself. Bush won legitimately, I'm afraid.

51% of the American people support torture. It is time we understood that, as people of conscience, we are a minority in this country.
